Morning Update

Tragic. The only way to describe the Royal's loss yesterday, which I attended. Because of a prior engagement, I ended up at the game in the 3rd inning. And the Royals were already down by 5. I went to the bathroom in the 6th inning and came back and the A's had hit two home runs. I love the Royals but they're like a girlfriend/wife who keeps cheating on you and, for some reason, you stay with them. Loyalty and passion blind you from whats really happening. Oh well.

Well, I can't believe they did it but Scout ended an article by sort of quoting John Lennon- "All we are saying...is give Croyle a chance."

The Royals game was a blast yesterday, despite the 17-3 loss by the boys in blue. The Royals don't just lose, they lose tragically. I'm a fan but its that kind of losing that keeps me from really getting into baseball in Kansas City. Plus, I'm already trying to keep up with any and all Chiefs news I can so that takes up a good portion of my sports intake as well. Referring to that Scout article above about Brodie Croyle, I think we just need to start Croyle from the beginning of the season. While this is just anecdotal evidence, I've read of more than a few Chiefs players saying that Croyle was more prepared and more ready than anyone expects.

I couldn't believe that Lennon quote. It was a very solid article, but I wasn't a huge fan of Wendler throwing that in there out of nowhere.

Brodie

I saw Brodie play a few games down at 'bama - kid plays with a lot of heart and was a pretty good leader on the field. His knock has been size, not so much height but bulk - he was playing behind a bad line for the tide and was getting "David Carred"; while I don't think our line will be that bad I do think that if he's got NFL caliber players bearing down on him and smacking him around he'll need to add some more bulk to his frame to take the abuse. I'm pretty excited about seeing what the kid can do at this level - at least find out now if he can hack it or not, rather than trying to find a retread to come in here. I was terrified we'd try to make a move for Kyle Boller to come compete for the starting job.

Would a trade for disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers

guard Alan Faneca be something we could pull off? That would help him with the whole "getting Carred" situation, plus he and Waters would make the best guard combo in the NFL. I'm sure we could get him for a 2nd round pick in next years draft.
