Bucs Trade for Ryan Sims

Via the official Buc's site:

On Tuesday, the Bucs announced the acquisition of former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Ryan Sims, a first-round pick in the 2002 draft. Tampa Bay sent an undisclosed future draft pick to the Chiefs in order to acquire the powerful and versatile lineman and add yet another potential piece to a totally revamped pass rush.

Good luck finding that "power" and "versatility". Good riddance. He's finally somebody else's problem. Check out Buc 'Em for the Tampa Bay reaction.

What about Keyshawn Johnson?
Any word on us being interested in him now that he's been released?  I bet Carl has thrown around the idea of signing this possession reciever, I personally wouldn't mind it.  He would fit Herms offense and he's alot better than Parker, who I think should be the next trade or release victim.

I don't really want Keyshawn
We are not really a playoff team next year whether we like it or not. Keyshawn would only be around for a couple of years max. Might as well develop young wideouts while we can.

i wouldnt mind signing him to a 1 or 2 year deal
The younger guys like Bowe, Webb, and Hannon could all see how he goes about his daily work and learn a few things from a bigger reciever.  Kennison is not the right guy to teach our youngsters the ropes.

It doesn't matter
we probably won't sign him, I am happy about the Sims trade though.  We really should have a solid D-line next year.  All those big bodies have to at the least wear down the opponents.  I'm gonna disagree with you and say we are a playoff team and I do like it.  Any predictions on who the June 1 cuts will be for the other teams?  Maybe an OL or D back will be available.

p.s.  I love this site, I just wish it were more active, there only seems to be a few people sharing there thoughts. Is there anything I can do to help out?

Post a diary when you can
Just create more content- stories, comments etc.

Thanks to everyone who contributes.

It will get more active
as the season nears. Its damn hard to build a website if you've never done it!

Sorry if that sounded bad
You seriously do a great job!  I love your stories and you are always on top of breaking news.  I justed wanted to know if there was a way I could help get the word out or what?  Didn't want to get on your bad side or discredit what you do, I very much appreciate it.

Oh no not all
No offense taken. Football blogging is harder than baseball blogging for sure.

Back to football
Any word on the June 1st cuts?  Who do you think or have you heard who might get cut?

by stevedebergHOF on May 1, 2007 3:45 PM CDT up reply actions

I haven't heard much in the way
of cuts save those who are already gone. Hicks and Sims were pretty obvious. Rod Gardner maybe? The guy doesn't really play anyway.

What about other teams?
Heard about any OL or D backs that might get cut?

I checked out a few Bucs
message boards and they're not clamoring for Sims to come to TB but they just don't get how bad this guy is. I guess you have to be a year to year KC Chiefs fan to understand his worthlessness.

Seriously
When I told my husband we traded him, he got confused and said, "Tampa is giving us a draft pick for him?"  I understand his confusion - who the hell would trade for that fat lazy fuck?

I've always had a crush on Jon Gruden though.

You play to win the game!
