New Blog: Sounder At Heart for Seattle Sounders Fans!

Morning Update (Smile Edition)

  • Arrowhead Addict asks: Would you cut Patrick Surtain or Ty Law first?

  • Rob ranks the top ten current Chargers over at Bolt Hype. Shawne Merriman comes in at no. 2 for Rob.

  • The guys over at the Chiefs MVN are looking at free agent offensive linemen.

  • I love this quote about the Oakland Raiders' season -- "This season fell in a forest and nobody heard it fall."

  • It turns out that Detroit Lions RB Kevin Jones, who left last week's game against the Chiefs with a knee injury, has torn his ACL.

  • Brad Smith of the Jets, formerly of the Missouri Tigers, is making a run at Tony Romo for the league lead in smiles.

  • Raider RB Justin Fargas, who gashed the Chiefs for 139 yards in Week 12, has been placed on IR after spraining his knee two weeks ago.
Count it down. Only four days left in the Kansas City Chiefs 2007 season. This season has definitely flown by, much more so than last year.

We'll only get bigger and better as 2008 approaches and NFL football is a reality again. This blog made its name during the off season, when, somehow, I managed to post something everyday.

I'll be here in the off season, everyday (except for Saturdays usually) putting up something to read. I just wanted to say its been fun wallowing in the muck that is the 2007 Chiefs season with everyone.

We can get worked up, angry, disappointed or frustrated with the Chiefs but at the end of the day, the Chiefs are entertainment and this is a game. So, smile and relish the fact that we have a great team to cheer for in a great city. 2007 was down but the Chiefs will inevitably be up again soon. SMILE!

Thanks Mike
It will be very busy around here this off season. I can't think of a more important draft in recent years than this one.

Thanks from me as well
I have noticed that I hardly ever hop over to kcchiefs.com anymore...much better stuff going on here.  I look forward to discussing free agents and the draft with everybody.  Go Chiefs!

I have been waiting to say this...
Living in Mississippi, which I wouldn't trade for anything, makes it a little difficult to keep up with "my Chiefs".  Living near Memphis, TN we have to settle for the Titans games each and every week. ( I did get to see the Chiefs play the Titans...Hooray)
With that said, I want to tell you, Chris and each and every contributor to this forum, how much I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts and read those of others and get valuable information on the team I love to cheer for all of these last 43 years.
I have not found another site that has offered as much information and willing to share with everyone that visits, without asking for a premium dollar, as I have with this one. (yes at this point I would pay a price to stay here)
But, everyone here has made this season one of the best I have experienced in a long long time.  I agree that this upcoming draft (and free agency) will determine the future and direction of the team for the next 10 years.  Lets hope that the powers that be, will make the right decisions, to allow a Hunt to once again hold the trophy that was won in the game named by their father.

So with that I simply say, Thank you, to everyone involved here.

Always free...
Even though we do have some really cool changes happening over the next few months. I've seen the preview of SB Nation 2.0 and I guarantee it will blow all of you away.

Kudos Chris
on a great job this season!  After the last game, take a couple well deserved deep breaths, pat yourself on the back, then stretch your hands out real good because we are in fact headed into one of the most exciting off seasons we've seen in a long long time.  We have some serious draft prognosticating to do after some serious FA evaluations and speculation.  Not to mention some undoubted coaching changes . . . You might have time for only one deep breath.

Thanks
Who knows...the off season may prove to be more exciting than the '07 regular season.

agree
Watching paint dry at times would have been more exciting!

by Lanier63 on Dec 27, 2007 11:11 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yes
because I actually watch paint dry at work (not kidding) and it beats a -2 yard pass to Kris Wilson any day.  Seriously though, even when the Chiefs are bad, it is a blast to watch them, maybe even more so this year, because we have been watching some younger players develop.  And like it or not, Hali, Page, Pollard, Webb, Johnson, Croyle, even Sapp, Brackenridge, Tyler, McBride, etc. are likely going to be the core of our team for the better part of the next decade.  Let's get ready to add some free agents (hopefully young ones) and 10 more draftees!

Oh it will be
this is indeed the bottom of this process.  No where to go from here but up!

Thanks, Chris.
I live in Maryland and this site has been a salvation.  Thanks for the site, community, and a link back home!  You do a great job putting up with us.

Merry Christmas!
