Chiefs struggle, but Lions struggle more.  A very boring game with 2 inept offenses.  Chiefs 17-Lions 14.

by Chiefs n Chopper on Dec 23, 2007 11:25 AM CST reply actions

Three inactives that make me happy:
  1. Eddie Kennison (I like him, but let's get the young guys in there to see what they can do)
  2. James Reed (see above)
  3. Gilber Harris (he's sucked so far, hopefully that means that other guy will get a few carries, and then speak in the third person).
Non-Inactive that makes me crazy:
1. Eddie **ing Drummond.  What the crap this guy is still doing on the team is anyone's guess.  Brackenridge, Smith, and Allan better all be hurt, or else any one of those three should get to suit over Drummond.

I think the Chiefs are going to come out and kick some ass.  There's no logical explanation for this belief, but hey, I'm a religious person and definitely believe in phenomena, miracles, etc.
Chiefs 24, Lions 13.
I wish I could say the Chiefs would score more, but I'm pretty sure that once they hit the 20-point threshold, they'll just go into a complete shell, and only score if its defensive.

GO CHIEFS!!!

Confused
What are these first down things we are getting? I've not seen them before, are they good?
Blame my wife!

by sir eccles on Dec 23, 2007 12:12 PM CST reply actions

It has to be
so weird to be a Lions fan. Like an abused wife who can't leave her husband.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:19 PM CST reply actions

Sorry
I'll keep my mouth shut in future.
Blame my wife!

by sir eccles on Dec 23, 2007 12:20 PM CST reply actions

We've been giving up
some long passes as of late. Calvin Johnson may have a big day.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:20 PM CST reply actions

Bernard Pollard
is everywhere it seems like. Is that just because our run defense is so bad?

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:21 PM CST reply actions

Great to see them open up the offense
I've been saying all year we need to get Jason Dunn involved to spark this offense...

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:31 PM CST reply actions

You think so?
I don't think he's much more than a blocking tight end.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:36 PM CST up reply actions

No, not really
Sorry, it was sarcastic.  They threw two straight passes for one yard.  How are we going to know what Brodie can do if they don't let him go downfield?

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:41 PM CST up reply actions

Saftey?
Man I missed that. What happened?

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:37 PM CST reply actions

Blocked punt
Right up the middle.  It rolled into the endzone and out of bounds.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:42 PM CST up reply actions

The Chiefs are a highway!
and Detroit's drivin' all DAY LONG....

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 12:43 PM CST reply actions

Not a good play
How often do you turn the ball over, miss the tackle to prevent a TD, pick up a 15 yard penalty, and knock yourself out of the game all on the same play?  At least he didn't roll over Larry Johnson on the sideline and tear his ACL or something.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:55 PM CST up reply actions

I'm not bragging
But I did say the Lions would beat us over a month ago. Sad to say it looks like I'll be right.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:50 PM CST reply actions

Croyle is carted off the field
Jesus this is a train wreck.

Hello Damon Huard...

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:51 PM CST reply actions

Oh wow
Eddie Kennison was the emergency QB so that means all we have is Huard.  Who's the emergency emergency QB?

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:52 PM CST reply actions

You're right
If Huard goes down, we'll have nobody.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:53 PM CST up reply actions

It's really hard to follow this game anymore...
Makes me wonder if we can even beat anybody anymore (including the jets)... thank you nfl commish for not making us play the patriots this year. that would just be cruel.

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 12:54 PM CST reply actions

can we...
just forfeit? please?

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 12:56 PM CST reply actions

The game isn't over
But these types of losses are the hardest to take. Not only do we lose but we're embarrassed in the process.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 12:57 PM CST up reply actions

Emergency Emergency QB
If the o-line can't block any better than that we may find out who it is sooner than we think.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 12:57 PM CST reply actions

Ugh...ly
Man this is REALLY hard to watch.

The only positive I can find is the heart with which Kolby Smith is running.

by mikvogel on Dec 23, 2007 12:57 PM CST reply actions

Gonzo...
should get more love now that Huard's in...

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 12:58 PM CST reply actions

More love???
... than he was getting from Croyle?

It seems like the pick was b/c Croyle had locked onto TG as his only downfield reciever.

Jackie Battle touchdown?
Flag on the play...Too many men on the field by the Lions.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 1:03 PM CST reply actions

Nice
Jackie Battle doesn't care about your 12 men on the field!

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 1:03 PM CST reply actions

ok, more yards...
tony just gets more yardage when Huard is behind center.

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 1:04 PM CST reply actions

Sweet!
The radio guys just said if Huard goes down our QB is....Bobby Sippio!

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 1:07 PM CST reply actions

Sippio
is the emergency QB
Blame my wife!

by sir eccles on Dec 23, 2007 1:07 PM CST reply actions

i may not be a football guru but...
i think you're supposed to move the ball forward.

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 1:11 PM CST reply actions

Nice
They just had a shot of Croyle with Sippio right behind him.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 1:12 PM CST reply actions

Huard...
... may be completing passes, but he's throwing off his back leg.

If he's not careful, he's going to float one for a pick.

MV

by mikvogel on Dec 23, 2007 1:14 PM CST reply actions

If we could score in the 2nd half...
...I might think we were trying to climb back in this thing.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 1:17 PM CST reply actions

Brodie Sucks
Has not shown anything so far and Huard is showing him up right now. It Detroit for gods sake.

by tdurden on Dec 23, 2007 1:17 PM CST reply actions

YES!
Jared Allen touchdown! Wow...just amazing...

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 1:18 PM CST reply actions

Allen
called for that ball as he ran across the middle.

19 to 14. We've got our usual second half surge.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 1:18 PM CST reply actions

Nice...
to see Jared get his 2nd.

Big love for the other Pro Bowler on the team!

MV

by mikvogel on Dec 23, 2007 1:18 PM CST reply actions

You know
that Jared Allen is talking so much shit on the sideline right now.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 1:19 PM CST reply actions

Go Chiefs!!!
Bad day for me to pick K. Smith for my fantasy team. Everyone else is getting the TDs but him.

by tdurden on Dec 23, 2007 1:21 PM CST reply actions

HERB TAYLOR!!!
Why the hell wasn't he in earlier? COME ON!!

by FoxKC on Dec 23, 2007 1:23 PM CST reply actions

this game got closer whilst...
other games in the league got spread further apart... oakland is getting killed. :) so is Houston.

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 1:24 PM CST reply actions

i have to say...
damon has been very impressive today. still, brodie is the future and if he can go, he should in the second half.

get the ball in jackie battles hands more, he has had 1 carry where he ran over some guy and scored a TD when the defense had 12 players on the field.

what more does he have to do to get the ball?

by rockchalk on Dec 23, 2007 1:31 PM CST reply actions

Naa
Draft a new QB

by tdurden on Dec 23, 2007 1:32 PM CST reply actions

yeah
hilarious waste of a first round pick

by The DBowe Show on Dec 23, 2007 1:36 PM CST up reply actions

anybody hear
on the radio about the "halftime" that we had?  since it hasnt been doing us any good, we didn't have one.

by The DBowe Show on Dec 23, 2007 1:37 PM CST reply actions

No
What did they do?

I'm not sure it helped.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 1:45 PM CST up reply actions

nice to see
tj duckett pull away from ty law.  what a joke.

by thehulk on Dec 23, 2007 1:45 PM CST reply actions

by sir eccles on Dec 23, 2007 2:08 PM CST reply actions

Dwayne Bowe TD!
Amazing! 34 yard TD on 4th and 14!

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 2:15 PM CST reply actions

RE
Hell of a pass by Huard. The CB didnt' even see the ball.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 2:16 PM CST reply actions

Great catch
Our receivers have really bailed Croyle and Huard out of some not so great throws today.

But, here's what I don't understand.  We go for it on two fourth and 10+ on that drive leading me to believe we know we're not going to get many chances.  So...why not go for two?  It seems like another situation where we can't get everything on the same page.

And common sense reigns as they bring out the offense after the challenge.  Thank you, Detroit, for challenging that.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 2:18 PM CST reply actions

Err, nevermind
I should know better than to expect our offense to do anything.

Oh well, it still makes sense to at least go for it.

by Pauli on Dec 23, 2007 2:20 PM CST up reply actions

good chance
we were just trying to kick it so the TD wouldn't get overturned

by The DBowe Show on Dec 23, 2007 2:20 PM CST up reply actions

Huard
18/22, 210 yards. Two TDs.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 2:19 PM CST reply actions

great pass by huard...
even better catch by dbowe. go for 2 and tie the game...

by rockchalk on Dec 23, 2007 2:19 PM CST reply actions

Conversion failed
Lions defender came off a blown play.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 2:19 PM CST up reply actions

Brilliant...
simply brilliant offensive minds empty the backfield on 2 point conversions when we've had protection problems all day.

Fire Solari.

A RB
would have helped back there for sure.

by Chris Thorman on Dec 23, 2007 2:22 PM CST up reply actions

wow.
svitek still sucks, although he has done better than the turley/terry combo.

herb taylor is now playing at LT, i like it. he hasnt played very well, but it would be nice to see just how good he is.

by rockchalk on Dec 23, 2007 2:21 PM CST reply actions

lets get a stop
im getting tired of len dawson saying "sheeeesz" after every play.

not to say i don't agree with him

by The DBowe Show on Dec 23, 2007 2:24 PM CST reply actions

You can tell he's fed up
Even on good plays he's bitching about something.

wait
still alive!  lets hope drummond doesn't f up this return

by The DBowe Show on Dec 23, 2007 2:35 PM CST up reply actions

making...

by tdurden on Dec 23, 2007 2:47 PM CST up reply actions

higher draft pick.

damon huard turned back into what he has been all season, ducking to take a sack and throwing two horrible passes.

by rockchalk on Dec 23, 2007 2:52 PM CST reply actions

I for one...
Blame Canada!!

by tdurden on Dec 23, 2007 2:53 PM CST reply actions

You never know
Drummond might return the kickoff for a TD.
Blame my wife!

by sir eccles on Dec 23, 2007 2:57 PM CST reply actions

how the heck
did we lose that game when you look at it statistically....?

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 3:04 PM CST reply actions

What a perfect...
... metaphor for the season.

Huard dumps it off to Smith, who breaks a tackle, jukes into the open, flips it to Samie Parker who races into the middle of the field.  Samie realizes that there's a player within 10 feet of him and he falls to the turf in surrender, ending the game in a loss.

Ugh.

When's the draft???

MV

by mikvogel on Dec 23, 2007 3:05 PM CST reply actions

2nd
in players with top passing yards and receiving yards for the week, 2nd to a team that dominated... defense was ok... we found a way to lose

by wildman040 on Dec 23, 2007 3:06 PM CST reply actions

now on to root for miami...
im calling it right now, as i have called it for a month now.

miami beats the patriots today...

by rockchalk on Dec 23, 2007 3:17 PM CST reply actions

That would have happened if Miami was still 0-14
I would have loved that if Miami still han't won and they beat the Pats.

Now that the Fins have a win, they broke the yin/yang mojo that would have beaten New England.  :(
