Above are the top ten worst teams in the league. I've gone ahead and predicted their records for the year, so we can see where the Chiefs may end up in the 2008 draft.

I have the Chiefs splitting the last two games and ending the season at 5-11. By my prediction, that puts us at the 8th draft spot. The teams picking before the Chiefs are the Dolphins, Rams, Jets, Falcons, 49ers and the Raiders.

Your thoughts on where the Chiefs end up drafting in 2008?

When you had us going 5-11

is that a win over the Lions or the Jets? And I never thought I would say this, but Go Raiders! (By some miracle they could actually beat the Chargers in Oakland...I don't think they have a chance against JAX) I would say we will end up between 5th and 7th...though there is a chance we could go 6-10 and drop to 8th or 9th.

Jets

We'll beat the Jets. I know the Lions are on a downhill slide as well but I don't see us winning the last two games.

Ravens

If you have the Ravens finishing 4-12 and the Chiefs finshing @ 5-11, wouldn't they be picking in front of the Chiefs as well? That would leave the Chiefs selecting 8th?????

On being a fan

From one of today's KSK posts. Hard to deny that BDD is one of the best football writers out there.

"One of the fun things about being a fan is, when my team plays well, I say to myself, "Holy sh*t! They're f*cking great! They're never going to lose!" Then the next week they play like sh*t and I say to myself "God, they f*cking SUCK. They're never gonna get better unless they fire everyone. F*CK THEM." I have no attention span at all, despite knowing better. But I think that's what I LIKE about being a fan. The ability to turn on my team at the drop of a f*cking hat. It's really quite fun."

Injuries and morale

could drop us to 4-12. I've heard some talk about trading down in the first round if we don't have a shot at Jake Long. With a draft this deep in OT's that might not be a bad idea, depending on who we trade with and those teams in between spots. With Baker, Clady, Cherilus, and possibly Oher and Loadholt out there we could pick up a top notch OT and have a couple second round picks for a CB and OG.

8 spot

If we pick later than 3 or 4 Jake Long will not be there so we might want to start thinking about other guys like OT Ryan Clady from Boise St (if he declares), OT Sam Baker (USC), or DT Sedrick Ellis (USC).
