How about those Chiefs? I'll take a 3-3 first half tie on the road against the Colts any time.

BroCro
needs to be allowed to go downfield in this second half if we're going to stand any chance.  that, and the D needs to continue pressuring right on through that depleted colts offensive line

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:30 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Our defense
was a bit opportunistic there.  And 2 missed FGs by them = lucky.

re: shotgun
If I'm not mistaken, he's been in it a couple of times this game.  Like 3rd and long.

Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't shotgun help us, particularly with our line and the amount of time Brodie probably needs?

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:31 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i tend to agree
however it seems over half time time we've been in shotgun today we've been doing draw plays

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:32 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Unpredictable
Probably the only time you can use that word when talking about this offense.

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:33 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Out of the blue
Herm's prototype for a player is probably something just like Steve Tasker.  Special teams guy who can and does do anything the coaches ask.

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:32 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

half the time
is what i meant.  got halftime on the mind

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:33 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Our defense is playing
the best it has all season. And that's saying something.

by Ridiculous Matt on Nov 18, 2007 1:34 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

They are getting hit
the second they try and catch the ball.

Damn good job defense!

CRUSHED
another great play by DJ.  now hold onto the ball kennison

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:35 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

seems as if
they may have figured out that the WR screen is what we're doing if we're throwing...

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:38 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

First time
the first player there has taken Bowe down.

Pump fake to that play (we've done it 6 times) and then fade to Bowe

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:38 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nice scramble
but we get hit with another hold.

Our O-Line can do NOTHING right.

by Ridiculous Matt on Nov 18, 2007 1:38 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We're going to run on two downs now
I would bet anything.

You're fooling no one, Herm.

by Ridiculous Matt on Nov 18, 2007 1:39 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hey we passed
This is going about .75% better than I thought it would.

We've got to give our defense a chance in this game. The Colts will start clicking at some point.

by Ridiculous Matt on Nov 18, 2007 1:42 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

conspiracy theory
herm edwards, mike solari, and dick curl must be gambling on chiefs game every week, always picking the under.  holding the score down is hard to watch.  there is simply no chance we ever attempt a play that can pick up a first down on third and longer than 4.

damn zebra
we had addai plugged if he doesnt get in the way

by The DBowe Show on Nov 18, 2007 1:44 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He's stepping up every time
The line is collapsing so quickly, Peyton's immediately stepping up in the pocket.  I didn't think we would be able to get enough pressure to actually affect him.

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:44 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You hadn't seen
Charlie Johnson play left tackle

by shake n bake on Nov 18, 2007 1:46 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Defense on their heels
We need someone to make a huge play.  Seems like Manning is stepping up and throwing short more to avoid the pressure and we don't have anyone there soon enough.
Brodie...UNLEASHED!

by Pauli on Nov 18, 2007 1:46 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Rhythm
I was going to say we have to break up their rhythm.  Then Addai busted that off...

our interior
looks like its getting tired.  our ends are still applying pressure, but the inside is being ravaged

To be fair
it was pretty close to a horsecollar. It wasn't, but I can understand why it was called. Those tackles in college scare the crap out of me.

Of course, it would have been useful when Priest had his hip BROKEN!

by Ridiculous Matt on Nov 18, 2007 1:53 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What bothers me about that penalty
It's so tough for the officials to see what is legal and what isn't.  It seems like it's called very inconsistently so far.

Why do a play like that?
To Samie Parker.  A WR screen requires you to break tackles.  I"m still waiting on this all world speed.

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 1:57 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Can you even call it a screen?
No one really blocks for them.  It's like, "here you go, now break the tackle of the guy who is running at you from 8 yards away."

screw the draw...

We need

I'm terrified we're not going to get the ball back until under a minute and Herm will take a knee.

I'm not kidding.

it is going to be up to brocro
as long as we hold them to 3 points, or less, we are in a position to win the game.

what a learning experience for brocro...

even though vinatieri is struggling, he will make this FG.

it is all up to brocro, with about 1 50 left and 1 TO, to lead us to victory or at least OT.

They've got to kick it, right?
I mean, you're at home with a first time starter on the other side?  It's basically an extra point.

by Pauli on Nov 18, 2007 2:44 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Last week
The Colts were trying to draw the defense off, and their TE Utecht was called for a false start.  Dungy used a time out to argue the call, it still went against him, and not having that time out ultimately cost them the game.  He should kick the ball here.

by primetime 07 on Nov 18, 2007 2:45 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

didn't give bro cro a chance to win this game.  end of story.  the defense did all they could, holding indy to 13 points should be enough to win.  not when you don't throw downfield, and run draws on 3rd and long.

I do want to put this one
on the coaches by the way.

The more we progress, the more it seems like our coaching staff is a liability, not an asset. That's just my honest opinion.

We should know that Solari isn't the answer, right?  I'll give Herm a shot but I think he will cost us as many games as he will win by not making mistakes.

still, even though moral victories mean nothing...
we thoroughly outplayed the defending super bowl champion indianapolis colts IN indianapolis.

a stupid 4th and 1 conversion and they win fairly easily, but we outplayed the colts.

no other way to look at it.

we outplayed the super bowl champions.

before the final drive, our QB making his first career start outplayed arguably the greatest QB in nfl history, peyton manning.

big confidence builder for brocro...hopefully.

that is a judgment of our offensive line
there is no way our o-line could block long enough to give brocro time.

oh well...

rock chalk jayhawk!

by rockchalk on Nov 18, 2007 2:55 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

that doesnt bother me...
our offensive line is so bad, no way brocro has enough time to let his WRs get to the end zone downfield and have him throw it.

our offensive line sucks.

i love brocro.

rock chalk jayhawk!

by rockchalk on Nov 18, 2007 2:54 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I just can't see
what the point of that playcall was.

Toss it in the endzone. Brodie had time.

He could have rolled out.

It was a chance. There's chance for a penalty, a la the Browns game a few years ago.

I'll say it. I know we're stuck with him, so I should support him.

I hate this coaching staff. Hate it.

bright side
gotta love bro cro.  even behind a weak offensive line he managed to look poised.  i can't wait to see him next week.  he's young, he'll improve week by week, and that's a scary though.

Good and bad
Brodie Croyle.  What took so long?

Defense.  Looked great for most of the game and 13 points should have been enough.  Couldn't get a stop at the end though.

Coaching.  Amazingly predictable.  Amazingly conservative.  How many times does Priest Holmes have to get blown up on 1st and 2nd down before we try something else?

O-line.  Obviously it's broke and won't be fixed this season.

Brodie...UNLEASHED!

by Pauli on Nov 18, 2007 3:00 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

no
but if we can take care of some of our o-line problems throught the draft and free agency (1st round LT may be a good start) I think we can be a real force in the league next year.
