Trent Green Concussion Video Clip

Unfortunately, this is the second time I've posted a clip of Trent Green sustaining a head injury. More than likely, Trent's career is over. We wish him the best of luck.

Keep an eye on the guy who knees Trent Green. He does a full on side flip.

and that piece of shit
that hit him was taunting him as he laid there. That jackass will get what's coming to him. I hope he is proud of himself. What a piece of shit! Sorry to rant, but that kind of idiot should'nt be making that kind of money or reproducing. Where do you learn to be that big of a douchebag? He said the God didn't like Trent Green trying to block him at the knees. I don't know what god he is talking about, but my God doesn't condone injuring and ridiculing a man. Had to get that off my chest.

After seeing the clip...
I don't understand what you're so upset about.  Trent went for a dirty block below the waist.  It was a bogus and dangerous play and is fitting that he got the worst of it.  Remember this is a guy missed out on a Super Bowl run after a guy went low on him while he was in St. Louis.  It was a cheap shot play and the guy got pissed, he had no idea Trent was out cold when he was mouthing off to him.

Not a cheap shot.
Completely legal.  Linemen hate it because their knees could get taken out pretty easily.  They fight every year to make blocks below the knees illegal, but at least for now, that play was legal.

haven't seen anything on it yet
but just heard last night from my brother, and again this morning on the radio that the guy was running his mouth after the game about it too.  who does that?  the play was legal, complain to the nfl, don't go taking shots at a guy that you saw get wheeled out on a stretcher because of you, accidental or not.  show some class.

Completely agree.
Even if it was a cheap shot (it wasn't), show a little class.  For all he knew, Trent's career in all he has ever known, football, was over.

Just because...
it was a legal block doesn't mean it wasn't a cheap shot.  To put a blind hit directly on someones knee is as cheap as it comes.  Good take on Mike and Mike (I know ESPN blows but a good take none-the-less).

What was he supposed to do?
Not make the block?  I don't buy the cheap shot line until I hear someone come up with a better option.  Trent has done that before in KC.

What was he supposed to do?
How about block him up high?  How about hit the guy in the chest.  Like a coward he went low and got what he deserved, knocked out.  Worst of all, the Chiefs will now only get a 5th round pick for him.

Block him up high!?
215 lbs vs. 315 lbs.  Blocking him up high might have been worse.  What he did was not against the rules so why shouldn't he have done it?  You may disagree with the rule, but you can't say that was an illegal (or therefore cheap) hit.

Trent Green's a pussy
Have you ever heard of unwritten rules?  Something doesn't have to be illegal to be a cheap shot.  Its not illegal for me to go after my buddy's ex but its a pretty low blow.  Similar rules apply in sport.  You don't put a helmet in a guys knee.  Fuck Trent Green, he got what he deserved. Kissing Suzy but it best.

Yeah, I read that.
Those guys are funny but you gotta take it for what it is.

Just listened to all the announcers on ESPN, the former players said no it's not a cheap play, they did it all the time.  There was one dissenting voice, however.  One Emmitt Smith.  Emmitt's on your side?  I'd say your argument just got a lot weaker.

(Just kidding by the way)

A few quotes on this from around Blogfrica...
  • The Fish run a reverse to Ted Ginn Jr. ... not much happening, he reverses field, gets a crushing block from Ronnie Brown, and then OH DEAR LORD ... Today, the Smorgasbord is profoundly sorry to mourn the loss of Trent Green. I honestly think there's a chance he might be dead. Texans DT Travis Johnson just rammed his knee into Trent Green's earhole and killed him.
  • I think my favorite part of that was when Johnson got up and started talking shit on a motionless Trent Green. I understand, you're upset that the guy took a dive at your knees, but still ... he's Trent Green, he's 58 years old, he's one concussion away from being Terry Schiavo, and he's laying on the ground and not moving. You might wanna ease it back a notch.
  • Someone said they just saw Trent Green moving ... which is good, I guess. Hell, he barely moves when he's up and under center. But here comes the stretcher, the prayer circle, and the countless replays of the hit against the Bengals last year that made his head bounce like a rubber ball. Given his history, and the size of the man whose knee just rattled his dome, it's not crazy to think this is the last we'll see of Trent Green.
Today, the Smorgasbord is profoundly sorry to mourn the loss of Trent Green. I honestly think there's a chance he might be dead.
He's not dead. You may continue calling him a cheap-ass pussy.

you cant blame the guy that hit him...
he is just running and trying to tackle the ball-carrier, he didnt try and run into him.

it isnt anyones fault, just proof that trent green shouldnt be playing football any more...

Travis Johnson said
"he (Trent Green) like the Scarecrow and wanted to get courage while I was not looking"  I am not for sure but I think the Scarecrow only wanted a BRAIN.   Maybe this clown could wish for that before taughting a player laying lifeless on the ground and saying it after he the game in which he watch him be carted off on a stretcher..

Guess this means
we won't be getting that 4th round pick.

by Bill Grigsbys Cirrhosis on Oct 8, 2007 7:21 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

i think
that the 4th round pick was ours as long as Green ended up winning the starting job at the beginning of the season.

Green needed to take
70% of the snaps this season for it to be a fourth.
