Chiefs Embarrassed by the Jacksonville Jaguars
The diaries are already streaming in. Make sure you check them out too.
Stats are here.
No turnovers by the defense resulted in the Chiefs being pretty much routed by the Jacksonville Jaguars 17 to 7. The Chiefs lone TD came in garbage time when Brodie Croyle hit Samie Parker in the end zone with no time left.
This offensive line cannot do anything for Larry Johnson and the Chiefs running game. Larry was engulfed each time he touched the ball. Problems...everywhere...
The defense played pretty well but were unable to stop the Jaguars in the first half on 3rd down. That resulted in long, drawn out drives from the Jaguars offense that eventually wore the Chiefs' defense down.
Chiefs fans, we have major issues on offense. Last week was a short vacation from our problems. Leave your post game thoughts here.
At least we had a great game thread. Other than that, not much to cheer about. Unless you really want to look deep into that last pass by Brodie Croyle. Herm does have a decision to make, yet again. Huard simply is not cutting it.

10 rushing yards
There's no excuse at all for being that terrible. Doesn't matter who we lost from the o-line or who is calling the plays or how much training camp LJ missed. It can't be that bad. If it really is the line then why not just let Larry go and pay Bennett a third as much money?
Defense was ok, I guess. They got them in plenty of 3rd and long situations but that means nothing if you let the Jags convert them all. D-line was pushed back for most of the game and especially in short yardages situations.
Once again another missed fg kills early momentum. Return game is nonexistant. Drummond is a nightmare and was rightly booed for letting another punt bounce behind him and die inside the 5.
I do have a question about the roughing the passer call on DJ. Was that officially because of a late hit or did he hit him the wrong way? I watched the rest of the game and there were several hits from both teams that were way later than that one was.

10 F^cking YARDS!!!
That has to be close to record low in NFL history. Drew Bledsoe could come back into the league and rush 10 yards by himself.
We lost. I can deal with that. But we were humilated at home, I just can't say what I feel at this point.
Oh, and nice job never throwing to Kennison and not throwing to Bowe in the first half AGAIN.

So True
Didn't we throw to Kennison only once?
Was there a game plan? If so - what the hell was it?

Awesomeness
-Unless you're Herm Edwards, then you play not to lose. Tell the team that the D needs to keep it close...meaning we expect to be behind. Fantastic way to inspire confidence. "We'll be behind, but don't let it go too far."
Yes, this is emotion and beer talking, but we should be telling the team, " Go in and rip the other team's freakin' head's off!!" Show some damn confidence in the team, Herm. Let your team make mistakes. I would rather lose trying than "try to keep it close."
F^ck that! I want to OWN the other team on both sides of the ball. Even if we don't actually accomplish that, I want the team to know that is the goal and try. "Give us the ball on our own 5, OK we're going 95 yards for the TD, men." But, no, we get, "Men, go out there and don't turn it over. We're going to throw a couple swings and then give up. The field position is bad and we're going to quit because I'm too afraid we might make a mistake."
Maybe the run blocking would be better if Herm would inspire some confidence in them. He tells them we can't trust them and then calls run plays. They play to his expectations. Average men can do great things if they believe they can. Herm could learn from that, and from the fire Gunther instills in the Defense.
Nice guy only goes so far.

croyle needs to start
our defense played very good besides 3rd down, and htey should get better when they arent on the field for forever.
special teams blocking is absolutely pathetic, that needs to get better.
i bet we win next week against cincy, they are nothing special.
