Unrelated but very cool
On the from page of the Chiefs Extra from today's paper there is an article by Jason King. Apparently, as we were in the process of kneeling to run out the clock a side judge came up and told Herm "Your teams never quit. They NEVER quit." Edwards later said it was "the best compliment of my career." I agree and it shows. Regardless of the level of talent the Chiefs have had on one side of the ball or the other, it has been a long time since they had the willpower to keep playing with intensity into the 4th quarter (even in Chicago we were fighting at the end but turned it over twice). I credit Edwards with this persistence, especially with the defense. The Chargers offense dominated the first half and if our defense hadn't stiffened up in the Red Zone, the score would have been even uglier. But even though the Chargers had our D on the field a lot in the first 30 minutes, they didn't look tired in the 4th quarter. In fact, they seem to play better as the game goes on...that will continue to win us some football games.
Love that quote
Herm gets criticized for his stubbornness and hopefully he'll get some credit when it pays off.
