Former Chief Pollard Didn't Like Haley's Cursing
NJ Chiefs Fan linked a story in Arrowheadlines this morning that I was going to mention (even though I should have known he was going to beat me to it).
We've been hearing about Bernard Pollard playing well with the Texans as of late. Their run stopping has improved, the players like his attitude and he is by many accounts very happy with the way the situation turned out.
Of course, the Chiefs are currently reeling at free safety and it's not like Pollard's replacements at strong safety have gone without criticism.
Pollard talked to the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette about his time under Todd Haley with the Chiefs. Quotes after the jump and I can't mention Fort Wayne without linking this Pollard video.

Arrowheadlines: Chiefs News 11/8

Good Morning AP! Game Day! As last night's booze is slowly replaced by this morning's coffee, I wanted to remind everyone of Dantrell Savage. His name has not been mentioned enough going into today's game. With the increased load on Charles, I'm wondering who will be taking the kick offs. Remember, Savage had a 53 yard return last year.
Holy crap! Just linked to an article about Pollard and he has not nice things to say about Haley. Be sure to look at the last article before the Tweets start.
For a football team with as many holes in its 53-man roster as the Chiefs, Sunday is a very important day.
When the Chiefs take the field against the Jaguars at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium they will have two new starters, one on offense, one on defense. What RB Jamaal Charles and FS DaJuan Morgan produce with the opportunity given them will go a long way to helping Pioli/Haley as they make plans for the 2010 off-season.
Running back and safety are two areas where the Chiefs need help looking to the future. Of course, they also need help on the offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, wide receiver and tight end. Possibly only cornerback, quarterback, kicker and punter would go to the bottom of the list.
If Charles and Morgan can be productive players, and show the Chiefs they can step into their roles on offense and defense and not be – as Todd Haley calls it – yo-yo players, then running back and safety can drop down on the list of needs, allowing the Chiefs to prioritize at other positions.
Sunday of Opportunity … Game-Day Cup O’Chiefs from Bob Gretz
Bottom line
The Chiefs could be poised for one of their better offensive games of the season because the Jaguars have some weaknesses defensively. Cassel should have more time to throw, running lanes for Charles and Smith could be more prevalent, and it will be a disappointment if the Chiefs don’t score more than they have in the past couple of games. If they can slow Jones-Drew and eliminate turnovers, it’s a winnable game. Prediction: Chiefs 23, Jaguars 20.

The Kool Aid Drinker’s Manifesto on the Kansas City Chiefs
I stumbled across AP just about one year ago. I was a big fan right away. Originally I was way too intimidated to even create a user account because I had never "blogged" before and didn’t think I was worthy of putting anything out there on such an impressive site. I witnessed and was part of the huge "boom" that happened here when the new regime came in. I was so impressed with the passion and excitement that us Chiefs fans had for a team coming off a 2-14 season. I expected things to come to a stand still between the hirings and the draft, but the enthusiasm just kept coming. I again expected a let down between the draft and training camp, but once again AP just kept bringing it. I wrote about this awesome dedication in a previous post (The Love).
We are now 7 games into the new regime and for the first time I’m starting to see a chink in the enthusiasm armor. Posters are bashing Pioli left and right. The main complaints are that he didn’t do enough to help the team this season and he can’t do anything on his own without one of the "Bills" helping him. There is even more negativity surrounding our coach Todd Haley. I’m not going to take the time to list all the current complaints. Let’s just say people have serious problems with his leadership style, roster management, and in game coaching.
This post is in no way intended to bash anyone for stating their opinion. My opinion is no more valid than anyone else’s. The debates that go on here are what I love the most about AP. However, I do feel like the negativity is growing. I also believe that there are a lot of people, like myself, that are still optimistic about our team going forward. I feel there are several well thought out, logical reasons to keep the faith in Pioli and Haley. Around here it has become common to refer to anyone with these beliefs as" Kool Aid Drinkers". This implies that we are not forming our own logical assessment of things. We are just lapping up whatever Arrowhead gives us and taking it as law. At first I was offended by this. I have now decided that I am not going to fight it, but embrace it.
If looking at the state of the Chiefs and still seeing hope for the future makes me a Kool Aid Drinker, then fine, I’ll own it. I’m a Kool Aid Drinker. I’ll warn you that the body of this post is even longer then the intro. It includes several points that I have made before in discussions around here. I have combined them here with the purpose of making my case for why you too should be a Kool Aid Drinker.

My buddy said the same thing about the Redskins game a while back. He left his Woodley Park apartment (in D.C.) and didn't go more than a few hundred yards before seeing his first Chiefs jersey.
Can you say best fans in the NFL?

Random Observations about the Jacksonville Jaguars
In order to get you more prepared for the Kansas City Chiefs game tomorrow, I've gone through a bunch of the Jacksonville Jaguars statistics and pulled out some of the more interesting ones. At least interesting from our perspective.
I did the Big Cat Country podcast on Wednesday and the overwhelming feeling I was left with after talking to those guys was: The Jaguars' defense sucks. Apparently, they have no pass rush and after playing pretty well on run defense, gave up 305 yards last week to the Titans.
A once proud defense is now in the bottom seven of the league.
After the jump, some random observations about the Jaguars...
