Chiefs Signing Thomas Jones One Of The Best Free Agency Moves
I've been perusing the internet this afternoon and stumbled upon a piece by ESPN's Adam Schefter covering the top five moves of free agency so far. The top one -- Ravens acquiring Anquan Boldin -- is a no-brainer.
The second best move of free agency thus far, according to Schefter?
Well I guess the headline kinda gave it away.

Details On Alabama, Kansas Pro Days
We've got some details filtering in on a few key players in the Alabama and Kansas pro day.
Alabama
First, nearly every team in the NFL is at the Alabama pro day so we've gotta assume the Chiefs are there as well.
LB Rolando McClain ran a 4.74 forty yard dash, which is about what he was expected to do. He didn't run at the NFL Combine due to an injury.
DT Terrence Cody weighed in at 348 pounds, which is excellent news for him. He started at 370 pounds at the Senior Bowl and got down to 354 pounds at the Combine.
Kansas
I'm told the following teams are there: Browns, Eagles, Jets, Cowboys, Steelers, Ravens, Vikings and Bears.
And, yes, the Chiefs are indeed there as well.

Former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson Visiting The Raiders And Redskins
Six days have gone by in free agency and there's been nothing on the future of free agent and former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson.
Redskins are scheduled to host a visit Thursday with former Chiefs and Bengals running back Larry Johnson.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting.
This move is a little perplexing if you ask me. The Redskins already have their over 30, broken down running back in Clinton Portis.
The one part of this I can make sense out of is the connection to Mike Shanahan. If you'll recall, back in LJ's day, he tore up the Broncos on a regular basis. And the coach at the time?
Mike Shanahan.
[Update: And I'm just now noticing, via the FanShots, that he's also visiting the Raiders. Wow.]

Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft Participants Finalized
In six short days, the third annual Arrowhead Pride Community Mock Draft will begin. And as of yesterday, we have the draft participants finalized.
Many thanks to those of you who volunteered to participate and my apologies for those that wanted to but didn't nab a spot. Make sure you can commit to making two picks (or however many you have) in a timely manner if you're one of the volunteers.
Check out the draft order after the jump.

Shaun Smith Says He Signed With The Chiefs
Free agent NT Shaun Smith has announced to his Twitter followers that he's the newest member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
It's a officiical am a Kansas city chief
The Chiefs aren't confirming the news but judging by his tweet, I would expect an announcement at some point.
We'll let you know if/when it's official.
Smith worked out for the Chiefs back in October and obviously didn't sign. However, with the hiring of Romeo Crennel might have brought upon a renewed interest in Smith, who had the best season of his career under Crennel in 2007.

Chiefs Scouts Will Be Busy Today
There are a few schools of interest to the Kansas City Chiefs hosting a Pro Day today including Alabama and Kansas.
The Chiefs have checked out Alabama a few times this season and names like Rolando McClain and Terrence Cody have been involved speculation surrounding the Chiefs draft.
In fact, both McClain and Cody skipped out on Alabama's trip to see President Obama in preparation for today's festivities.
Because of the local connection, Chiefs scouts have also seen quite a few KU games so there's another pro day to keep an eye on.
After the jump, the complete listing of the 17 pro days today.

Expect a Much Better Draft from Scott Pioli in 2010
Last week, I suggested that Scott Pioli maybe needed to show a little bit more urgency this offseason and it seems to have struck a chord--many strongly disagreed and many strongly agreed, but few people seemed to be in-between. The good news is, Pioli has responded. I wouldn't say he responded in a big way, but re-signing Chambers and bringing in Thomas Jones were both solid stopgap moves. I would have liked to have seen a blue-chip second-contract free agent like Dansby or Rolle in the mix too, but I realize those deals may never have been on the table. I'm okay with the Chiefs' offseason so far--I wouldn't endorse it, but I wouldn't criticize it either.
However, even though I haven't been ecstatic about Pioli's free agency track record so far, I also realize that he's the type of GM who would rather build primarily through the draft. Good, because I do too. Granted, I wasn't a big fan of Pioli's 2009 draft. Though I realize drafts take a few years to evaluate, I think a lot of even his biggest supporters will tell you that the 2009 draft wasn't exactly anything to do cartwheels over. Either way, what's past is past and in this case, the past is completely separate from the future because a lot has changed since the 2009 draft. Arrowhead Pride did a great job of updating you on the changes in the Chiefs' personnel department, so I wanted to recap all of those changes in case you forgot.
After the jump, I'm going to list the reasons why there is really strong potential for the 2010 Pioli to tell the 2009 Pioli: "You got served" when it comes to the draft.
