NY Giants at NE Patriots: Super Bowl Open Thread
Game time: 5:17 CST on Fox
New York Giants season stats are here.
New England Patriots season stats can be seen here.
Finally, stats from their Week 17 match up.
Everyone knows the story lines because that's all we have been hearing about. Tom Brady, 50 TD passes, 19-0, Eli's resurgence, Plaxico not practicing, etc. And, of course Bootgate. Can't forget Bootgate.
And buried underneath all that is the the Patriots, the team itself, has filed paperwork in an attempt to trademark the phrase '19-0'. After the Giants have been already been talking the Patriots do something like this. I don't want to say they're cursed or anything like that but that seems a bit premature.
My prediction: 35-17 Patriots. The game will never really be close, Eli throws 2 interceptions, Brady throws for 4 TD passes and gets the MVP.

A lonely city turns its eyes back to the Kansas City Chiefs, after MU's loss last night to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game. Congrats to the Tigers and the Jayhawks on entertaining seasons.
Despite your feelings on the status of the Chiefs' season, this is a divisional game and the Chargers are the division leaders. The same song is being sung-- The Chiefs are still "in the race", despite our poor play. I'll be here the whole game so let us know if you're around. Before the game starts, make sure you check out Arrowhead Addict. They have updated injury reports and a picture of Boomer Grigsby and Larry Johnson's birthday party in New York. Seriously.
I'll continue my theme of always picking the Chiefs to win. I predict a similar score as the first meeting this season-- 27 to 20, Chiefs. Leave your predictions in the comment section. I'll list the inactives in there too when they become available.
GO CHIEFS!!!

Open Thread: Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders
After last night's game, it's time to get down to business. It's Raider week.
The Raiders strength is in their defense. Our strength is certainly not in our offense. It should be interesting. Brodie will certainly get his test because Fabian Washington and Nmandi Asomugha form arguably the best DB tandem in the country.
So, here we go Chiefs fans. Raider week. We have to win to extend our winning streak against them.
Hopefully this game gets real ugly. My prediction: Chiefs 23 Raiders 7. Leave yours in the comment section.
CHIEFS! CHIEFS! CHIEFS!

Well, I was lucky enough to have this day off of work. Chris is at the LSU/Arkansas game. I'm getting ready for MU/KU tomorrow night. We've got a long weekend of football coming up. Indianapolis beat Atlanta last night. We've got the Raiders game coming up this weekend.
Raider week doesn't seem to have the same energy it used to. I'm sure it's just because they've been absolutely terrible their Super Bowl run in 2002. The game I get most jacked up for every year is the Raiders game. Usually only when they come here, because we never beat them in Denver it seems.
Use this thread to talk about our schedule the rest of the way. We're going to have to steal these next three if we have a shot at winning this division. And our RB situation certainly isn't helping our situation. But, we snuck into the playoffs last year (Thank you Joe Nedney), so why not this year?
