We’re hearing the Chiefs are expected to showcase more twin-TE alignments next year after adding Brad Cottam in the draft to pair with perennial Pro Bowler Tony Gonzalez. Cottam is quite raw but will nonetheless help offset the dearth of wide receivers the Chiefs have at their disposal.

There’s an old line that goes something like this: Bankers get together to talk about art, and artists get together to talk about money. It also can go like this: When football coaches get together, they talk about war — bombs, sacrifice, shotguns, stealth bombers flying over stadiums, ground attacks, courage, defensive lines.

This clip is apparently from Savage's OSU debut. Pretty impressive. Shades of Marcus Allen in fact.

Yet if NFL history keeps repeating itself, third-round pick Jamaal Charles, providing he can move up the depth chart at running back, might have a better chance for immediate league-wide recognition than either of them.

Kansas City got the A-plus in 2008. Based on my board, the Chiefs reached for a player only once in their 12 picks. And it was a minor reach. They took a player in the fifth round who I had rated as a sixth-rounder on my board.

It's the first time I've given Kansas City an A in the 17 years I've been grading drafts. Congratulations, Chiefs.
