Herm Edwards' Thursday Press Conference
Primetime: "Nice, two throw away posts in a row." Yeah, yeah. Thanks for the sarcasm Primetime. I'm finally coming out of a hectic month at work and will be able to settle in before and after to write good stuff without having my mind obsess over what's happening at the office. Keep up the amazing job you guys do in the FanPost and FanShots.
Here's what little bit Herm had to say today about this weekend's game.
On Bills QB Trent Edwards...
They’ve got the perfect coach: Coach Jauron. I know Dick and he’s very patient and he understands that when you start a young quarterback like that there are going to be some growing pains. (Edwards) won five games for them out of the gate. He was hot and now he’s struggling a bit. We’ll find out more about him in how he reacts in the next six (games). But when you start young guys they have a tendency to have some games you wish they wouldn’t have. But that’s part of it.
On the Bills recent woes...
Those things, but they’re still in every game for the most part, kind of like us. In the fourth quarter they don’t make a play or two to find a way to seal it. Before that they were making those plays and weren’t turning the ball over as much.
Quick notes
- Tamba Hali will play this week
- Tony Gonzalez is "moving around pretty good."
- Did not practice today: Donnie Edwards and Adrian Jones
- Limited: Jarrad Page, Pat Surtain, Pat Thomas and Mark Bradley
- Full participation: Tony Gonzalez, Derrick Johnson, Brandon Flowers and Tamba Hali

A Quick Look at the Buffalo Bills
via NFL.com
Make sure you check out Buffalo Rumblings for actual Bills analysis.
Lots of turnovers
After starting out the season going 5-1, the Buffalo Bills have lost four straight games. In those four losses, the Bills have, ahem, thirteen turnovers.
Bodes well for the team with the second best turnover ratio, yes?
Eight of those turnovers have been interceptions by the Bills' starting quarterback Trent Edwards. The Bills have also fumbled the ball ten times in that four game stretch, losing five of them to their opponents.
Down Analysis Report
Nothing too surprising here but take a look anyway:- 1st Down - 142 rushing plays (3.76 average yards per rush), 120 passing plays (7.67 average yards per passing play
- 2nd Down - 77 rushing plays (3.52 average yards per rush), 116 passing plays (4.7 average yards per passing play)
- 3rd Down - 37 rushing plays (4.24 average yards per rush), 87 passing plays (7.29 average yards per passing play)
- 4th Down - 1 rushing plays (0 average yards per rush), 2 passing plays (2.5 average yards per passing play)
Pretty typical stuff I'd say.
Injuries
Last night against the Browns, the Bills' cornerback Jabari Greer injured his knee, forcing the Bills to play two rookies at corner. First-round pick Leodis McKelvin and fourth-round pick Reggie Corner played the rest of the game.
From the Fans
Here a few snippets taken from Buffalo Rumblings which I hope capture the current sentiments of Bills' fans.
No, what Buffalo needs are some difference-makers. Guys to lean on. Buffalo is a star-less team, and it's become painfully apparent over the past month that they need a couple of stars.
Right now, Buffalo is stuck at "average"; they started the season at "very good".
Meanwhile, the Bills were able to find a pass rush tonight - against a pretty good Browns offensive line, no less. No, it's still not consistent, but it was enough to force Brady Quinn into completing just 39 percent of his passes.
Wait, teams are supposed to be looking for a pass rush?

Morning Update (Future HOFer Edition)
- Next Up: Tennessee Titans - Visit Music City Miracles for all your Titan needs over the next two weeks.
- Previewing the Titans from the Mothership.
- Will Antonio Gates make a run at Tony Gonzalez's HOF TE numbers?
- For those looking to snag J.P. Losman, Buffalo starter Trent Edwards went down in a brutal hit last week.
- How sweet it is that Tony G. passed Shannon 'Big Mouth' Sharpe for the all-time record for yards by a tight end? Man, I can't stand that guy!
- Jon Yoon over at MVN is embarrassed by the media coverage of TG's record breaking day.
I'll be back with more soon but on a quick side note, I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of using the 'rec' button for FanPosts. As I'm sure you've noticed we are getting more and more every day (especially game days), so definitely 'rec' the quality ones up so they don't get lost in the shuffle.
