As the NFL continues to grapple with stories of former players living with long-term brain damage, there's a new proposal being discussed that would reduce the number of head-on collisions that players experience: Start practicing without helmets.
Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that John Madden, in his new role as an adviser to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, is regularly leading conference calls with a group of coaches to discuss ways to make the NFL safer, and one of the recommendations has been practicing without helmets.

Gotta be careful on what I say this season. With all the new technology out there, the NFL is cracking down on what we can say and how (i.e. twitter, facebook, texting, etc...) It's like Will Smith in Hancock - "Good Job"

I dont know if its been relayed on Arrowheadpride yet but LJ posted on his facebook and twitter
"Gonna gallop all over the Chiefs. Cleat prints on the chests. Mud in the face masks.". I find this slightly amusing. I dont know if he realizes it or not but Cedric Benson is the number 1 back in Cincy and even if LJ does touch the ball I hightly doubt he will even get 15 yards combined for the game. I guess he figures his football career is just about over so hes going to try to be a comedian.

OK, it’s not technically the end for Kansas City WR Dwayne Bowe, but he will be out for four weeks after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. This failed test could also ensure that he won’t be back with the Chiefs next year as he already was in Coach Todd Haley’s doghouse earlier this year.

He was a distraction that an 0-and-whatever team did not need. So why does a first-place team need it?

ESPN’s Michael Smith is reporting that former Kansas City Chiefs tailback Larry Johnson will sign with the first-place Cincinnati Bengals this week.
Are you surprised? Well, you shouldn’t be.
