The Kansas City Chiefs traded into the top 10 with their first pick for QB Patrick Mahomes and now in the second round with the 59th overall pick the KC Chiefs select DE Tanoh Kpassagnon, 6’7 and 289 pounds, out of Villanova.
This is your defensive line pick which is a need for the Chiefs after they lost Dontari Poe and Jaye Howard this offseason.
“You wanna talk about genetic freaks, step on up Kpassagnon,” NFL Network’s Mike Mayock said after he was picked.
He was ranked third in SPARQ among defensive linemen. The Chiefs love athletic freaks and this is one. He has a ton of upside if Britt Reid, the Chiefs defensive line coach, can get it out of him.
Mayock said he’s a year away and has some developing to do. That’s fine for the Chiefs who have some bodies on the defensive line for 2017 but need some depth beyond.
