The NFL season is over so the offseason moves are coming. On Tuesday and Wednesday alone I saw it reported that these four veteran players have been cut. Three of them are notably former Packers players.
Would the Chiefs have any interest in them?
QB Josh McCown: If the Chiefs cut Alex Smith and bring in Tony Romo, they’ll need a veteran quarterback because Romo will probably get hurt. That’s the scenario where I could see McCown. But don’t count on it.
CB Tramon Williams: Former Packers players always raise my eyebrows. The Chiefs didn’t have any veteran corners this year and did OK so I would doubt this happens.
RB James Starks: He missed the last six games of the season with a concussion and the Packers cut him. He can do a little bit of everything which would fit in Kansas City. Except he’s 31 so ideally the Chiefs have someone younger.
CB Sam Shields: Yet another former Packer. He didn’t play since Week 1 due to a concussion. There’s some uncertainty there.
