The Kansas City Chiefs have a pick in each of the seven rounds plus they’re expected to get an additional four compensatory picks. Those won’t be announced until later but this 2017 NFL mock draft from Matt Miller includes the Chiefs projected compensatory picks.
This mock is ... interesting. The first pick goes to all world Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers, who could play multiple positions. If Eric Berry comes back, safety won’t be a huge need but you can always use talent in the secondary - if the Chiefs think he’s worth it.
The other surprise is two quarterbacks - California’s Davis Webb and Iowa’s CJ Beathard. The middle rounds are too low for me for a quarterback. I want one of the top 3-4 guys in the first or second round. Round three or four feels like too much of a risk (I’ll take your Dak Prescott comments). The Chiefs were willing, supposedly, to use a first round pick last year on Paxton Lynch (at least that’s what his agent said) so with the right player they would use a first on a quarterback, I think.
