The Kansas City Chiefs wouldn't tell us what their vetting process was with Tyreek Hill but as the days go by more information is coming out on their process.
The first one comes from Herbie Teope of ChiefsDigest.com who reports that the Chiefs contacted the district attorney in Hill's domestic violence case.
"Unlike some other athletes, he took complete responsibility," the DA told Herbie. "He didn’t blame the victim. He said, ‘I did it, I need help.’"
Read Herbie's full story here with more detail on the steps the Chiefs took.
The KC Star's Terez Paylor spoke with West Alabama's coach who says the Chiefs were among the 20 teams visited their campus last year.
"They spent the entire day each time they came," Hill's coach at West Alabama said. "They came and they'd spend the whole day .... They met with me, they met with our strength coach and several of our other coaches and then they'd stay, meet with Tyrese and watch practice."
Read Terez's full story here with more on Hill's time at West Alabama as well as his relationship with the victim.
SB Nation's Oklahoma State blog, Cowboys Ride For Free, remembers Hill from his time there and hosted a podcast last night to discuss his situation. Listen to that below.
Update: Didn't see this earlier.
Talked to Tyreek Hill's juco coach (former K-State qb Matt Miller). Said he was not contacted by Chiefs. Praised Hill during time @ GCCC.
