While he’s not on the level of Von Miller’s personal fouls, KC Chiefs safety Eric Berry was dinged for a personal foul in the Chiefs win over the Broncos last weekend. Berry had a few big hits and one of those will cost him a $24,309 fine from the NFL.
Berry’s was going up the middle to tackle Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs except that Bibbs went low and met directly with Berry’s helmet. It clearly wasn’t intentional but the result is what matters and it was helmet to helmet.

Berry generally does a good job of avoiding these hits as evidenced by his history of penalties or lack thereof. That was first career unnecessary roughness penalty (he has one roughing the passer penalty).
