I caught KC Chiefs rookie defensive lineman Chris Jones on the Chiefs Players Show with Steven St. John and Tim Grunhard last night and the rookie continues to say all the right things.
Jones said he wants to stop the run so that they can have some fun rushing the passer. Stop the run to have some fun has a nice ring to it, no?
“That’s my motto,” Jones said. “Everybody loves to pass rush. You can’t pass rush without stopping the run. Once you stop the run, that’s when all the fun kicks in.”
Jones said that he read something this quick that the Jaguars want to get the run game back in gear this week. The Chiefs are 19th in rushing yards allowed and fourth in rushing touchdowns allowed. Jones has been a part on that in recent week with his occasional DJ-like ability to shoot through the line and make a play behind the line of scrimmage.
