We polled all of our readers last week on which position the Kansas City Chiefs will address in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft and the results are in with over 2,000 votes.
Per these results, the Chiefs top three needs in the first round are: Offensive line (34 percent), secondary (29 percent) and wide receiver (18 percent).
I would agree with those being potential picks in the first round.
One position that should be higher is the defensive line. I really do think we're not giving that position enough attention. Andy Reid has a history of drafting big men in the first round. The Chiefs have the top two players at one defensive end spot (Mike DeVito, Jaye Howard) heading into the final year of their contract. They feel strongly enough about that position that they gave Allen Bailey a multi-year contract extension, which could suggest they may not want to dip back into those free agency waters next year and instead settle on a cheap-ish draft pick.
Inside linebacker is another position that's been talked about. Unless one of my favorite guys is there (oh hey, Eric Kendricks), that position isn't as high as, let's say, cornerback on my list. In the second round? Sure.
What do you think of these results?
