Two down lineman

Can someone help me understand why Sutton keeps running a defensive formation that continues to produce zero results. Regardless of whether a team runs a base 3-4 or 4-3, did anyone ever see the Seahawks line up with TWO down lineman? Even on passing downs? Especially on passing downs? What's the best recipe to slow a team's passing game down? Get in the QB's face and put him on the ground. We CANNOT get to the QB with just two down lineman and HandH coming off the ends. We've proven it and that damn formation played a big part in Indy's monster comeback.

We did it a lot more down the stretch last year and in the playoff loss to Indy. Poe and DeVito or Bailey and H&H on the outsides = a negative grade. I hate the formation because we cannot get adequate pressure on the QB and they complete passes at an extraordinary clip when we're in that formation.

I realize we can't run our base defense all the time, but just because we have HandH on the team, doesn't mean they have to be on the field at the same time in that two-down lineman set. They're standing up on the outsides and offensive lines have a field day blocking it.

Being at the top echelon of football, don't you think Sutton would stop doing something that doesn't work? With all these flags being thrown around the secondary, they leave the D no choice but to get the QB. That's the only thing you can do, because a team certainly isn't going to win with their corners. The league is seeing to that. Get rid of that formation, Sutton, or get out of town! Worthless!
