At the end of the day, Indy was able to climb back into maybe the best AFC Wild Card Game ever because of clutch play and an unforeseen chain of injuries to the Chiefs' Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, Anthony Fasano, Donnie Avery, and Justin Houston (who would return.) Charles, aka the Kansas City offense in 2013, was a huge loss, made even bigger when his backup Knile Davis was lost for the game as well.
No Charles, no Davis, no WR2 and no tight end left Alex Smith as a flight attendant with no beverage cart. But there he was, firing strikes en route to 378 passing yards and a comeback attempt that fell just short in the final stages.
