On the day Eric Berry was injured, which Andy Reid described as a "sore ankle", the Kansas City Chiefs sign veteran safety Steve Gregory. This according to his agent, David Canter.

No word on the length of the deal. The Chiefs cut LB Ben Johnson to fit under the 90-player roster maximum.
Read this piece on the signing. Some interesting nuggets on Gregory, who was set to sign with another team.
You may remember his name from his time with the San Diego Chargers, where he logged 85 games from 2006-11. He played for the New England Patriots the last two seasons. He has played 26 games over the last two seasons.
Listed at 5'10 and 200 pounds, Gregory has played special teams and safety in his career. While Berry has been injured, the Chiefs also lost Sanders Commings for a significant amount of time. I wonder where the Chiefs will play Gregory -- strong or free safety? In the slot on subpackages?
The Chiefs hit the field on Friday at 8:15 a.m. (Arrowhead Time).
