The Chiefs had a few tryout players in during last June's minicamp and ended up signing one of them -- WR Mark Harrison. He's a big guy listed at 6'3 and 230 pounds. At that minicamp, one play stands out where he went up and over the defensive back to pull down a long catch.
He's done that a few more times during training camp. That's when I seem to notice him -- when he's using his body and high pointing the ball to bring it down.
My play of the day for Wednesday was Harrison pulling down a reception over Sean Smith. Luckily, Time Warner Cable Metro Sports Nick Jacobs caught video of that play, which is the first one in the video above.
Can Harrison make the team?
The Chiefs could keep about six receivers. Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery and Junior Hemingway are likely to make it. That leaves AJ Jenkins, Kyle Williams, Albert Wilson, Frankie Hammond, Weston Dressler, Jerrell Jackson, Darryl Surgent, Fred Williams, Deon Anthony and Harrison competing for two spots. Jenkins and Williams were on the team last year. Wilson and Hammond have had strong camps. It's always a numbers game but Harrison's big play ability catches your attention.
