Every prediction I read for the upcoming season has one overwhelming trend…the Chiefs will fall short of their 2013 win title. Aside from the lack of improvement at key need areas and losses in free agency, many people cite that the Chiefs will not have as easy of a schedule next year by adding the NFC West to their slate. The Chiefs will have a more difficult schedule, but so will the NFC West.
The NFC West played the AFC South and NFC South last year, and the AFC West was a better division than either of those. The NFC West will also play the NFC East this year, which should be an improved division and at least on par with the two divisions they played last year. Everyone wants to point out that the AFC West schedule will be more difficult, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the AFC West will beat the NFC West head to head in 2014.
Predictions between the AFC West and NFC West
The Chiefs go 3-1 only falling in a road trip at San Francisco. Russell Wilson has one of those classic, "I can't hear anything" games and confirms Arrowhead's record setting noise levels.
The Chargers go 2-2 beating Arizona and St. Louis.
The Raiders sneak a win out of somewhere and go 1-3.
AFC West 10
NFC West 6
