After the Kansas City Chiefs latest round of roster moves, they had one spot open. The team announced that they have signed former South Alabama CB Damond Smith to a contract.

He is 5'11, making him one of the few cornerbacks under 6' that John Dorsey has brought in. Smith went unselected in the 2013 Supplemental Draft. There were some reports that the Packers may or may not have been interested last year, which makes sense with Dorsey's background in Green Bay.
As Herbie Teope notes, this comes after the Chiefs have a few defensive backs banged up.
Smith's already behind the eight ball with five camp practices already in the books.
