Today's best quote from KC Chiefs training camp might be this one from LB Joe Mays, who was asked what he's going to day with his day off on Tuesday.
"Bubble bath. Bubble bath sounds nice, but I think I'm just going to try and relax, get off my feet, definitely hit the cold tub and try to spend as much time with my family as I can."
Ha! Perfect answer.
I wasn't out at camp today -- we collected some practice observations here -- but here are a few more quotes from the Chiefs.
Andy Reid on the kickers each going perfect today
"Today was a tie, I told them it was like the World Cup. We practiced for an hour and then they tied. It's still exciting to watch though."
Andy Reid on the early injuries
"That happens normally in the first few days then they get back into it. They'll l be alright."
Derrick Johnson on still playing at age 32 (I mean 31)
"First of all, I'm 31 - I'll be 32 soon. No, it hasn't crossed my mind. I've been fortunate and blessed not to have a major injury. Every year, when I go back to work out with Jamaal (Charles) and all of these guys - if I can keep up with these guys, I can come back."
Joe Mays on the excellent temperatures in St. Joe
"You can't ask for anything better than this. I was in Houston last year and it was hot, muggy. It was about 90 degrees at eight o'clock in the morning. This right here is awesome."
De'Anthony Thomas on whether he's a RB or WR
"No, I just feel like I am a contributor. Wherever the coach puts me, I just am going to go out there, work hard and make plays."
De'Anthony Thomas on the heat
"I think I average like at least 15 Gatorades a day so just keep drinking Gatorades and just keep going."
