The KC Chiefs training camp roster moves continued with three more moves. G Rok Watkins has been waived, TE Adam Schiltz was signed and Sean McGrath was formally put on the reserve / did not report list.
Watkins was suspended for the first four games of the season but he could continue to practice with the team. The problem is that he has been hurt. At the start of camp, Andy Reid announced that Watkins had a disc issue in his back and would be placed on the non-football injury list. At one point, Watkins was thought of as a possible contender for the right guard job but that never really materialized.
Schiltz is a tight end who comes from Emporia State. He is 6'4 and weighs 245 pounds which suggests some athletic ability. The Chiefs placed Sean McGrath on the reserve / did not report list after he decided to retire. Schiltz joins a tight end group that has three solid candidates for the 53-man roster in Anthony Fasano, Travis Kelce and Demetrius Harris.
No. 84 just came to field & shook hands with GM John Dorsey. That's new TE Adam Schiltz, picked up off waivers yesterday from Tenn. #Chiefs
