We noted on Wednesday that the Kansas City Chiefs had signed two new players -- OT Ryan Harris and LB Josh Mauga. That meant two players had to be cut. The Chiefs announced those two players are LB DeRon Furr and FB James Baker.
Furr has not practiced the last two days because he was injured while Baker didn't show up to Chiefs camp at all yet because of what the Chiefs called personal reasons. Furr was placed on waivers while Baker was placed on the reserve / did not report list.
Harris is the most intriguing of the two new signings because his name is more recognizable. He was a former starter in Denver who has dealt with injuries throughout his career. If he's healthy, it could be an interesting signing.

The Chiefs are going to do this kind of roster shuffle throughout camp. There are 90 players on the offseason roster but just 53 make the active roster. That means spots at the bottom of the roster are highly competitive.
