Was 19 years old when we last won the big one.
19 years old in 1970, in the Navy at NAS Quonset Point Rhode Island, guarding the ammo magazines on Hope Island in Narragansett Bay. This year i'll be 64 in December and the only thing I want to see before I go is another Superbowl win for my favorite team.
Lord above, what a pitiful fan life i've led being a Chiefs fan! The highs were high and lowest lows (last year's playoff game) were exquisite torture, worthy of the Spanish Inquisition. Compound this with being a Red Sox, Boston Bruin, and Celtic fan, and I can truthfully say i've been through it all!
Football gods above, hear me, is it too much that I ask? I've been to Hell's suburbs (Vietnam), worked all my life, raised a family, paid all my taxes, even voted Republican about 50% of the time, and have Arrowhead on my bucket list. What more do you want from me? I've paid my dues and I want to see a return on this investment!
If not this year than I will petition you again next.
ps, can I at least have a playoff win this year? Please, pretty please with sugar ontop? I promise i'll be good (mostly), please.
pss, crap, Flowers signed with the Bolts, I hate the football gods sometimes!
