So last night I was quietly playing my Chiefs Madden 25 franchise, and was in a heated division race with the Broncos and Raiders (now located in DC and called the Capitols) when a news bulletin came across. It was going to be my last home game in Arrowhead Stadium. I was actually shocked. Now this is like 7 seasons down the road (I know I am a nerd), but still! To think that Clark Hunt would ever get rid of Arrowhead was a little unsettling. Then I started to think...would this ever happen?
I understand that it isn't going to happen in the near future seeing that they just put a boat load of money into the renovations, but do you guys think this would ever happen? Would we want this? Where would the stadium be? Would we have a retractable roof so we could land a Super Bowl? Would we build it like Century Link and claim the loudest stadium title once and for all. Could Chief fan's ear drums handle that? I think its fun to think about.
I say no. Arrowhead should be here until the NFL folds up and dies. Too much history and too much passion there. I would love more renovations to the place at some point though. Renovations so nice that they HAVE to give us a Super Bowl, but we should never get rid of Arrowhead. I still get goose bumps every time I drive past it on I-70. It is my Mecca. But still....you never know.
