Brutal schedule good for Chiefs?

For those fans disappointed by the difficulty of the Chiefs schedule this season here is a little food for thought. To get to the Super Bowl or even better win a Super Bowl you're going to have to be able to beat the best. Having a tough schedule allows us to know where we stand as a team and whether our depth chart is strong enough to be a contender now. If we are not ready for the push into the postseason this year, the schedule provides us the ability get a position early on in the first round of the 2015 draft.

I'm hoping for a great season in 2014 don't get me wrong. I'm ready to see where we really are. Can we beat the best? I think it's possible. But if we aren't ready, I would almost rather suffer the agony of another 2 win season to get positioned for stronger draft selection in 2015 than finish on the outside of the playoffs looking in. The tough schedule will provide one of those two outcomes in my opinion.
