The 2 Headed Monster Scenerio

One of the most talked about holes in our team this year is the glaring hole of a top notch receiver with elite spreed to stretch the field. The avenue most talked about in fixing this problem is using our first round pick to select one of the top receivers in this years draft. I would like to explain a situation that could benefit this team more then taking a receiver with our first pick.

I call this the 2 headed monster scenario. The first step in this scenario would be assume we could sign FA CJ2K for a huge performance based discounted price. If this was to happen, we could then use our first round pick to pick up a solid OL with our pick. I do realize that this would not be a long term situation for our receiver hole, But I believe it would give the Chiefs the most dangerous backfield in the NFL. Both in potential output and cover-ability. witch could make up the difference in our lack of a receiver.

Lets start with our QB:

According to espn.com Alex Smith's career avg is 6.55 yards per completion at a rating of 81.0 This tells us that even though we all are aware that Alex can get the ball down field, he is at his best with the short to intermediate , or check down throws. With that in mind another weapon out of the backfield would be icing on the cake.

Next is the RB:

Now even though we have the great Jamal Charles, and a solid number 2 back in Davis, I believe after that we are lacking at the position. I believe Davis is still kind of a project with great potential. He has great speed and a solid durable frame to potentially be an every down back in the league. But he does have a fumbling problem, and does not give you the receiving threat that Jamal does. Again According to espn.com Jamal Avgs 5.6 yrds per carry and 8.9 yrds per reception. CJ2K Avgs 4.6 yrds a carry and 7.4 yrds per reception.

With both these backs on the same team, it gives you the options to rest one and play one, and not have a huge drop in production. But also gives you the option to have both coming out of the backfield at the same time. This makes our team, our offense, and our QB that much better and more dangerous. Could you imagine a Defensive Coordinator trying to game plan around both Jamal and CJ on option plays, and in my opinion, I really do not see any defense having the personnel to cover both backs plus the running threat of Alex, and all of the receivers. This is my duel threat 2 headed monster Scenario at its finest.

Then we are still left with our first round pick, to select either and OL or trade back for more picks situation. I would personally like to see an OL with our first pick. The better you make the O Line the better blocking you have for the 2 Headed Monster we created above..
