The recent news of the Philadelphia Eagles entertaining trade offers for Desean Jackson has left many people in shock, and many Chief fans wondering "what if?' I for one, don't like the idea. Reid and Dorsey have been careful to find team first guys, and Jackson is known to be a me first guy, some would even say Mesean. We all know what a fantastic big play receiver Jackson is, but his constant complaints about his salary is a concern. Jackson is unlike most prototypical recievers in todays game with his slight frame and average height, which is of course a durability concern. Count this Chief fan as one who says "thanks, but no thanks". This is an example of taking the Dorsey approach, and stay true to your philosophy of building in the draft and not overpaying in the free agency period. I just don't see how the Chiefs could allocate so much money for a underachiever (Bowe), and a malcontent (Jackson) and still have room to pay guys like Houston, AS11, and Jamaal in the future. With Jacksons salary being around $10 million a year, and his slight frame, and Philly's 3rd round asking price, its just too much of a risk for a team with limited cap room and no second round pick. Reid has a history with the mercurial wideout and I think KC's silence on trade talks pretty much sums up what the Chiefs think about dealing for Jackson. With so much depth in this years WR draft class, I say we would be better off in the long run drafting someone like Beckham, Lee, or Benjamin. What say you Chief fans, would DJAX be worth it?
