Being a loyal KC Chiefs it's hard for me to even ponder this, but you know what the Chief's need some speed at WR. Better yet speed and experience is even better. I understand so many people want to draft a WR in the 1st round. But the numbers of a 1st round WR of making that transition to the NFL are low. So lets take a look at so FA choices especially Ex-Raiders.

Jacoby Ford

Height: 5-9. Weight: 186.
Combine 40 Time: 4.28.

The Raiders appear to have little or no interest in re-signing Ford. Ford is only 26 with playmaking ability on both special teams and offense. He recorded only 13 receptions for 99 yards in 2013. He'll be well worthy of a minimum-salary. This guy can run and I keep remembering how he got the best of Brandon Flower time after time in 2011. (UGH) With Ford the Chief's will have more speed and also another return guy. We all know that Ford can return. With him in the slot well who knows. His salary last year was $490,000. So why not give him a little and bring into camp. Not to many teams are knocking on his door.

Darrius Heyward-Bey

Height: 6-2. Weight: 210.
Combine 40 Time: 4.3.

DHB is not the sexiest of the two. But DHB opened the season as the No. 2 receiver opposite Reggie Wayne and held onto the job far longer than he deserved then being benched for good in Week 14. Heyward-Bey caught just 29 passes for 309 yards and one touchdown on the year, while dropping nine passes. Now I understand with so many drops it's like having another Avery on the team. But for the price and maybe without anyone going after him he might turn it around and just pan out. If not then cut him. His salary last year was only $1 mill. not bad to just bring into camp and take a look.

Both of these players are and will be at reasonable prices. Also they know the Division. Both are still young and are in there prime to maybe break out or maybe not. They are looking for a job and there are not to many takers. Yes they are coming off there rookie contracts. But like I said they still have no job. So why not take a look at one or both. If I was one of them I would love to get a chance and make a team. Especially a team that plays the Raiders twice, that doesn't or didn't think I was good enough anymore. The Chief's will bring bodies to camp. Why not try at one of these two. It couldn't hurt.
