This Chiefs fan mock draft

I know we all have seen our fair share of mock drafts in the past week, but this die hard Chiefs fan thought he would give it a shot. I did a 5 round mock draft for all 32 teams and considered team needs for all. Before I list my Chiefs selections, not having a 2nd round pick this year really hurts, lots and lots of talented players were still available in my mock in round 2. But hey, AS11 makes the sting of not having a second rounder a little more bearable. I drafted with the idea that Dorsey will make a free agent signing or two before May 8th, hopefully addressing the safety position! Here goes:

Round 1- M. Lee -WR (USC) 6'0 195lbs.

Round 3- C. Smith- DE (Arkansas) 6'1 266 lbs.

Round 4- C. Jones ILB ( Fla. St.) 6'4 235 lbs.

Round 5- M Schofield OT/OG (Michigan) 6'7 304 lbs.

Lee would bolster the Chiefs mediocre receiving corps, and hopefully be the heir apparent to the #1 WR position in a short time. At 6'0, 195 lbs. , Lee is built like the WR's Reid seems to like (Maclin, D.Jackson) for his West Coast attack.

Smith would provide some relief from the possible TJAX departure, and battle A Bailey, and perhaps Catapono for the LDE position. Smith sounds like a situational pass rusher, and a little light for obvious running downs. This was the one pick that had me second guessing myself.

Jones is a big athletic ILB that would be a nice addition to place alongside DJ, and perhaps replace the veteran ILB in the next couple years as DJ is starting to get some years on him. Jones would be a steal if still available in 4th round.

Schofield could be a developmental player that has good size, and has played in "big" environments in college, and is probably a OG on the NFL level. This pick could go in another direction if we hopefully re-sign Schwartz, who fits our current blocking scheme better than Asamoah. If we resign Schwartz, the Chiefs might be inclined to look at other positions to address with their 5th round pick.
