Possibility of Joyner for FS needs

I think we can all agree that safety is a huge whole that the Chiefs have to address either through the draft or free agency. If we go the free agency route we would have to clear cap space via trades to acquire Byrd. This route may be not be easy and Byrd might sign somewhere else. So lets pretend the Dorsey decides he doesn't want to spend that much on Byrd and goes the route of the draft. This draft is not very deep with regards to the safety position. Most of the readers on here have said they want to get names like Clinton-Dix from Bama and Pryor from Louisville ( who I believe doesn't fit our scheme). More than likely neither of this players will be there when we are picking at 23, so who's left? I see two other safeties with the skill set needed to fit the chiefs scheme, Jimmie Ward from Niu and Lamarcus Joyner from FSU. Most of you have seen Ward getting picked by the chiefs in a few mocks and I would be all for that. He is great in coverage, an excellent tackler, and is rarely out of position. How amazing would it be to see a chiefs FS that would be the opposite of Kendrick Lewis? I believe Ward could step in right away and be solid for our secondary, but he is not the only option. Joyner of FSU is a smaller guy at 5'8" but plays much larger than his size. He is good in coverage, although he does bite on the fake occasionally, and is a solid tackler with the ability to lay the wood. Joyner was put back a corner last year after playing safety his soph. and junior years and has been a playmaker at every position. The dude is a serious ball-hawk and reminds me a lot of Mathieu out of LSU. How would you like to have chance to go back last year and draft the honey badger last year instead of relying on Lewis? Another advantage for Joyner is his versatility. I am sure Sutton would love to think up all the different and creative ways to use Joyner. Now I know he is a bit of a reach at 23 (being projected as a middle 2nd in most mocks), but what if the chiefs trade back or trade one of their bigger names (ie Flowers) for a second rounder? Then I could see this as a possibility. I am not advocating Joyner over Ward, but just giving my two cents on the two FS through the draft the chiefs should target. What do you guys think?
