Is QB the deepest position in the 2014 NFL draft or the most needed position in the 2014 NFL draft?
www.drafttek.com has 9 teams in need of a starting caliber QB for 2014. Jacksonville and Minnesota with the greatest need of 1 per their formula. Cleveland and Oakland have a 2 need and Buffalo, Houston, and Tampa Bay all post a 3. QB may not be their greatest or obviously only need, but a need. Drafttek has 11 teams with NO need of a Quarterback at all.
Disregarding Free Agent QB's, seriously they should be disregarded as starting QB's by now, 9 QB's should be drafted in the 1st round. Are there 9 1st round caliber starting QB's to be had?
A different Topic.
Potential trade partners in the 2014 NFL draft. San Francisco would seem a perfect trade partner with 11 picks in this years draft. They not only have our 2nd, someone else 3rd rounder, but a full 7 of their own plus 2 extra 7th's. The Niners have few holes to fill an a lot of the drafted players will need cut, so trade up and get a few solid players.
How bout Cleveland. 10 picks total with 2 1sts' and 2 3rds and 4ths. Might Cleveland want to trade up and acquire even more 1st round caliber talent to help that 1st round QB?
Jacksonville has 10 picks. 2 4ths and 3 5ths which could help them move up to get some solid players earlier in the draft.
St. Louis has 2 1st round picks and a chance to move down and gather more due to draft slotting.
Clearly to me, John Dorsey cannot claim no one will trade with him this year.
