Starting to think on the offseason.

With just 2 more games to go I have started looking ahead. A little early I know but I can't help myself.

First off is the cap and our own players we need to look at. I went over to overthecap.com to look at their cap calculator.

Cuts

If we do a post June 1 cut on Bowe, cut Hali, Avery, and Jenkins we would have about 27M under the cap. That is more than enough to tag or sign Houston along with re-signing Hudson and Parker.

I don't like losing Bowe but his production is not warranting that cap number. I would prefer to extend Hali and get his number down and keep him but not sure that will happen as he has leverage because someone would pay him even at his age. Avery and Jenkins are expendable.

Free Agents

After this we would still have some room to go after my #1 wish signing which is Iupati at G from SF. We would also have a shot at a middle tier vet WR like Denarius Moore from Oakland. He won't be a #1 but he would be good to have as our #1 slot and #3 outside WR (I think Wilson will be our starting #2.) If we sign Houston with a good cap number because of prorated bonus. We have a shot at Maclin I believe. A couple depth guys in addition will be signed I am sure. We will have Devito and Catapano coming back to work in there at DL and the guys we have in there now so I'm not worried on that front really. A depth/solid vet at ILB would be nice.

Draft

1st: WR like Jaelen Strong.

2nd: Right Tackle/Guard

3rd: DB

3rd: ILB

4th: another WR

4th: OL

5th: RB

5th: OLB

Remainders would be BPA. A TE would not make me angry.

This scenario would help a lot of the areas we struggled this year. I think we keep Daniel another year as it would not be a huge savings to cut him and I think Murray needs to be brought along slowly.

Let me know what you all are thinking.
