The No. 1 Florida State Seminoles take on the No. 2 Auburn Tigers this evening at 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) for the 2014 BCS national championship. Your follows for the game are Tomahawk Nation (@TomahawkNation) and College and Magnolia (@CollegeandMag).
FSU enters the game 13-0, having destroyed pretty much every opponent they've played this season. Auburn is 12-1 on the season, vaulted into the national championship race after the Kick 6 against Alabama. Spencer Hall wrote the piece on that game. Check it out here. Spencer also wrote a eulogy for the BCS, which is in its last year before moving to a four team playoff.
The biggest match up of the game will be FSU's incredible offense vs. Auburn's solid defense. As noted in the gorgeous SB Nation BCS Championship preview, "The problem for Auburn's defense isn't that it is particularly good or bad. The problem is that Florida State's offense is absurdly good."
My pick for the game? FSU by at least 10.
For the NFL Draft fans out there, Mocking the Draft has a nice set of prospect notes to keep nearby during the game. With the No. 23 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Chiefs could be looking at a wide receivers or cornerbacks in this game.
