Good morning and Happy Friday!!! Here is your Kansas City Chiefs news from across the internet. Enjoy!

Why Not A Super Bowl For Kansas City from ESPN

The argument that the NFL's championship game should be played in ideal weather conditions makes no sense. It's OK to have playoff and key regular-season games played in harsh conditions but not the Super Bowl? The NFL scheduled night playoff games this season in Philadelphia and New England and a late December night game in Chicago, and that's fine but a Super Bowl in New York is risky? Where's the logic in that?

Roughriders Release Weston Dressler So He Can Sign NFL Deal from The Globe And Mail

"Weston and his agent were very up front they were going to go through the process and we were made aware of a possible situation coming up in the next couple of days where Weston was more than likely going to get an opportunity," O'Day told reporters. "From our standpoint it's tough to lose such a good player that's been here for a long time, is a leader in the locker-room.

"But again, you've got to feel happy for him that he gets that opportunity. He hasn't gone through the process of being in the NFL and as any competitor you just want to see how you compare with the best available players. We wish him the best."

Dressler Headed To NFL (With Video And Photos) from The Regina Leader-Post

Dressler, who was released by the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday so that he can sign with an unidentified NFL team, said during a media conference at Mosaic Stadium that playing in front of Roughriders fans for six seasons was "a very special experience."

That's why he asked a favour of the NFL team with which he is to sign.

"I requested jersey No. 13 because I wanted to show my respect to the 13th man of Rider Nation," said Dressler, a 28-year-old product of Bismarck, N.D.

Coastal Carolina Football's Olivio Heads To Kansas City Chiefs from MyrtleBeachOnline

The Coastal Carolina football program is losing another assistant coach to the NFL.

Brock Olivo, who coached the Chanticleers' running backs and worked with the special teams units the last two years, has accepted the position of assistant special teams coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs, he and Coastal head coach Joe Moglia confirmed through an athletic department representative Thursday.

On 49ers: Why Bowman Should Be NFL Defensive Player Of The Year - And Why He Won't from The Sacramento Bee

Comeback Player of the Year

Who should win: Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs. If there is such a thing as karmic justice, the award will go to the star-crossed former 49ers starter, who lost his job in San Francisco because he suffered a concussion. Smith was in the midst of his best season when the injury occurred.

Who will win: Darrelle Revis, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kaepernick's Potential Extension: What's Alex Smith Got To Do With It from The San Francisco Chronicle

Joel Corry, an NFL agent for 16 years who now writes on contract and salary-cap issues for CBS Sports and the National Football Post, said Smith's possible deal could provide an interesting sidelight to Kaepernick's negotiations.

"Whatever (Smith) gets should be my floor," Corry said. "What if he gets in that (Cutler) range? I wouldn't pay him that, but what if Kansas City values him at that amount? Then (the 49ers) have to do it at that point. It logically follows that if a quarterback you didn't want, you traded away, gets X, the guy that you kept gets X plus one."

Poly Prep Football Coach Dino Mangiero, Former Seattle Seahawk, Will Root For Old Team In Super Bowl XLVIII from The NY Daily News

Dino Mangiero's heart will always be with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that gave him his first shot in the NFL back in 1980. So he was disappointed when the Chiefs blew a 28-point lead to the Colts in the playoffs earlier this month.

But the Poly Prep football coach still has a rooting interest in this weekend's Super Bowl. Mangiero played one of his six NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, who will play the Denver Broncos in the big game at MetLife Stadium.

Fantasy Meets Reality For Fans During All-Stars' Practice from DVIDS

First-time Pro-Bowler Branden Albert, an offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, thanked the service members and the fans for the warm reception. He credits most of his success to the discipline he received at Hargrave Military Academy.

"I really didn't see myself being out here," he said. "It's been a long road for me, but now that I'm here, it makes me hungry for more. This right here makes me want to work harder, so I can keep coming back."

Super Bowl: Tulare Native Virgil Green Chasing Ring With Denver Broncos from The Fresno Bee

Green, who had nine catches for 45 yards during the regular season and saw action in 16 of the Broncos' games, predicted Sunday will "be a hard-hitting game."

"We understand that they're going to come downhill and try to be the bullies with us, but we've been in some games like that," Green said. "We played the Kansas City Chiefs, and their defense is stacked. We've had some tough games this year. We're looking forward to a good old-fashioned backyard slobber-knocker game."

Conway Loves Its 'Chiefs' from MyHorryNews.com

Former Conway football star Junior Hemingway received a hero's welcome during a ceremony in his honor Friday night in the gymnasium where he starred in high school basketball.

Hemingway, who recently completed his second season in the NFL, was recognized by CHS Coach Chuck Jordan for the many contributions he and other members of his family have made to the school over the years.

Coach Of The Year: Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll Among Candidates from NFL.com

Andy Reid completely transformed the Chiefs into a winner

It's tough to argue against Andy Reid for this award. He turned a 2-14 cellar dweller into an 11-5 playoff team -- with largely the same personnel. (And remember, that last regular-season loss came when Kansas City rested its starters and still darn near won.)

In the playoffs, the injury-riddled Chiefs did blow a huge lead ... but there is hardly any shame in losing by one point, on the road, when six major contributors are hurt.

The HOF Case For Will Shields: Some Feel He Has No Shot This Year from CBS Sports

What a Hall of Fame voter thinks: "Ummmmmm, let's face it. There are usually guys who have no shot of getting in for another year. He's on my list. Out of the 15 finalists last year, he was the only one where nobody else had a comment after the presenter did his speech. It was like, 'OK, on to the next one.' He'll get a little bit of debate [this year]. It's one of those things where we've had him in here for a couple years. When you have the run of tackles and defense lineman, you have to figure out where he fits."
