Odell Beckham Jr., Wide Receiver, LSU

With the draft season underway, I'm going to take a look at some prospects and give my opinion on them. I will try to be as unbiased in my opinion as I can on each player. Always been terrible with Introductory paragraphs so without further ado...

Analysis:

An all-purpose weapon for LSU, Beckham took to the Cam Cameron offense really well and had an explosive year. With 2222 Yards from Scrimmage, more than half through the passing game, he shattered LSU Records and is now heading towards the NFL. With Deebo already on the team I'm interested in what another LSU kid can bring to the table.

Okay so right away you notice the guy has got some wheels. His listed time has to be false(Via CBS so probable), wouldn't be surprised if its easily 4.4, possibly lower with training. Highly athletic player, shows Great short area quickness, and a 2nd gear to burst through the secondary. Fluid athlete, Shows amazing body control to make a catch and has got some jump skills to boot. Is the PR/KR for LSU and has scored as both, what Dave Toub could do with this kid....

Raw player like a lot of LSU prospects, and while he has the skills and willingness for route-running, he's not a technician in this area and will need some definite coaching up. Showed off some nice ability as a sophmore, but in a Cam Cameron offense he was designated to short passes and Posts/Go routes for the most part.

Don't mistake this guy for an Athlete playing football though, he is definitely a WR. Big jump I think from his Sophomore days to his Junior in the little things to become great. His initial movements on the line are slick, Plus his HANDS, he's got them and they're huge. While from time to time he suffers drops and needs to continuously work at this area like anybody else, he really goes after the ball when its in the air and that goes a long way. Shows great ability as a hand catcher and can make the highlight reel grab. Can find the hole in the zone and sit in it, he defeats press man coverage really well and knows how to get open and I like that.

He also shows a willingness as a blocker, which is more than half the battle, just needs better technique down to get it right. Showcases a good amount of strength, I mean he's no Deebo but he definitely plays bigger than what he's listed at. Have never heard of any problems from him at LSU either, in fact the opposite. He put in a lot of work from what I've heard this year to become a better WR and you can tell.

Comparison: Greg Jennings

Lots of similarities, similar height, but I think ODB is more athletic and plays bigger. This is a guy I think that may not contribute like we all hope immediately at first. Tempering expectations would be a good thing, although he'll find a home on Special Teams to start off rather easily that will get some fanboys on his side. Once Alex starts trusting him, and he gets his knowledge of the offense down and route running refined he's gonna be deadly. I imagine him replacing McCluster on this team and nearly cream my pants. He'd be the perfect compliment to Bowe, and with his hands/athleticism Smith will love him. Plus we can call him ODB, and that would be awesome. Most likely will cost a 1st rounder to get him so a big decision if he's around on Sunday, I think he'd be the perfect fit in an Andry Reid offense. Most offenses in general I think.

Now what you've all been waiting for, a gif for your viewing pleasure
