The 2013 101 Awards Winners Announced from The Mothership
Chiefs fans are extremely proud that Kansas City's own head coach Andy Reid has received this presitigious award. Reid led the Chiefs to an 11-5 record and an AFC wild-card berth in his first season with Kansas City. He also helped orchestrate one of the league's biggest turnarounds from two wins in 2012 to 11 in 2013. Reid is familiar with the 101's as he was the 101 NFC Coach of the Year in 2002, while with the Philadelphia Eagles.

RB Jamaal Charles In 2013: By The Numbers from The Mothership
When asked about the Kansas City Chiefs record-breaking turnaround season, both head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey were quick to speak of the collective effort by the entire Chiefs organization. An obvious component in the transformation is the entire Chiefs roster, including three-time Pro Bowl RB
Jamaal Charles , who played a monumental role in the team's 11-5 record in 2013.Below is a look at the unbelievable numbers that Jamaal produced, like he mentioned all year, behind great coaching and blocking by his teammates.

Throwback Thursday: Show-And-Tell Help from The Mothership
Interestingly, original plans had called for an enclosed stadium, seating 60,000, with a downtown location. One plan called for it to be built not far from where the Kaufman Center stands today. All these ideas were scrapped.
In place of an enclosed stadium, a rolling roof would move over and back atop a football and a baseball stadium, breaking from the trend in design that was prevalent in other cities that were building new sports venues.
Reid Deserving Choice As Coach Of Year from ESPN
...the way the Kansas City Chiefs finished the season -- with a 2-6 record and by blowing a 28-point, third-quarter lead in the playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts -- was troubling.
But in the bigger picture, Reid was the best candidate. The Chiefs were 2-14 in 2012 and then won 11 games in their first season under Reid.
No Snub For Colquitt This time; Named All-Fundamentals Team from FS Kansas City
When it comes to technique, at least, Colquitt has no peer among punters. So says USA Football, which named Colquitt to its All-Fundamentals Team on Wednesday.
The All-Fundamentals Team "recognizes the NFL players who employ proper techniques," according to the organization's website. USA Football honors 26 players -- 11 offense, 11 defense and four special teams.
Chiefs' Dwayne Bowe Expects Bigger Things Next Season from KC Star via The Salina Journal
"For the money," said Louis Riddick, an ESPN analyst and former Philadelphia director of pro personnel, "you want the Indianapolis performance more often than not. You want more of the consistent type of performance. Yeah, he needs to come through for them. They showed a lot of faith in him and made a big commitment to him. He needs to repay that commitment through his performance."
There's a belief that Bowe, who is listed at 6 feet 2 and 221 pounds, could take a major step toward doing just that by having a strong offseason of conditioning, something that Bowe himself acknowledged during the radio interview.
"One thing I want to work on -- my endurance," Bowe said. "I was really, really tired that last game."
Vanstone: Dressler's Skills Merit NFL Chance from The Ragina Leader-Post
There are people who scoff at Dressler's NFL aspirations, citing his modest dimensions - 5-foot-7 and 179 pounds - and the fact that he turns 29 on June 14.
But who cares, really? Dressler is a football player. Period.
Disregard the supposed impediments, such as age, size or the fact that the NFL does not allow receivers to use the "waggle.'' Focus on the player, the person, and his tendency to silence the skeptics.
Dressler has been shutting people up, while staying true to his quiet nature, throughout his football career.
Dressler's Agent Seeking Right Fit For Receiver from The StarPhoenix
"If all things go great today, he could walk out of Kansas City and it could be the greatest feeling of his life, but the opportunity I think needs to be given to other teams as well," said Seurer who, when contacted by the Leader-Post on Tuesday afternoon, still hadn't heard from Dressler about the Chiefs workout.
"That's the benefit of the position he's in, to be able to go and visit the teams that want him to at least visit and take the opportunity to work out for the teams that want to work him out so that you can make an educated decision."
Kiper Mock 1.0 Reaction : Chiefs from ESPN
In his first mock draft, Mel Kiper has the Kansas City Chiefs selecting Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt with their first-round draft pick (23rd overall). With the draft being almost four months away, much can change between now and then.
But don't be surprised if this pick becomes a reality for the Chiefs.
The NFL Way from Sports On Earth
In an effort to rid ourselves of this once and for all, I've compiled a list of each NFL team's "way." Let's hope this works...

15 Potential Candidates For Ravens Offensive Coordinator Job from The Carroll County Times
Childress, 57, was fired by the Cleveland Browns following the 2012 season after just one year as their offensive coordinator, but he is a former NFL head coach who was the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2003-05. He was also the Eagles' quarterbacks coach for four seasons prior to that and has been largely credited for his work in helping to develop Donovan McNabb.
He also has a pre-existing relationship with Harbaugh. They were on the same staff together in Philadelphia.
Childress is currently the spread game analyst for the Kansas City Chiefs.
View From The Sports Desk: Occasionally, I Turn Out To Be Wrong from The Chanute Tribune
If I get anything wrong in my writing that doesn't involve trying to guess who will win a particular game, I will totally own up to that in this column. I hope that by doing so in this instance, it will bring some peace to the easily-offended fans of the Chiefs. Your team has only had 20 years of total futility, and not 28 like I originally claimed. This error of mine gives us all the chance to reflect on what can happen for a team that shells out the money to bring in an elite quarterback like Joe Montana rather than a mediocre, stopgap quarterback like Alex Smith.
Maybe next year, the Chiefs could try trading for my alleged new man-crush, Andrew Luck.
