Opening game of the 2004 Kansas City Chiefs football season at the Denver Broncos in front of 75,939 fans on a Monday Night spectacular resulted in a loss to the Elway led Donkeys. My son and I traveled to Denver on that exciting weekend hoping to bask in the glory of an opening game victory for the Chiefs over the hated Broncos.
Well, it didn't happen.
Adding insult to defeat, as my son and I departed the stadium in our Chief's red, the Bronco fans taunted and yelled at us:
"And your BBQ sucks too!"
I hated the Broncos before the trip. I hated the Broncos during the trip. I hated the Broncos at the game. I hated the Broncos after the game. I hated the Broncos on the way home. I hate the Broncos today. I will hate the Broncos tomorrow.
Basically, I will always hate the Broncos.
I don't play Fantasy Football. Why? The thought of having to root for anyone for any freaken' reason wearing a freaken' hated Bronco uniform makes me want to throw up - and that includes rooting for any team or any individual wearing a uniform in the AFC West other than the Kansas City Chiefs!
No offence intended to any of you Fantasy Football devotees. You got to do what you've got to do.
The NFL begins tonight - I take this opportunity to declare before God, country, and all Chief's fans everywhere - I hate the Broncos and anything related to football that suggests I should do otherwise.
Go Ravens. F the Broncos! Go Chiefs!!!
