Think about it we have been trying to be the team for years that doesn't make a lot of mistakes, pins our opponents back, and wins on being conservative and smart with the ball. Everyone thought when Reid came here we were going to be a pass happy offense, but we didn't. Reid just replaced our current crop of players with better versions, and found better coaches/schemes.
Matt Cassel at his best is, a somewhat mobile qb that is accurate within 20 yards, but throws a lot of interceptions. Alex Smith is a very mobile, very accurate, conservative qb that throws very few interceptions. Donnie Avery is a faster, younger version of Steve Breaston. Sean Smith is a taller, version of Carr both very physical corners that can go up against most wr's man-man. All of the players have pretty much just been an upgraded versions of the the previous ones which is smart because our players for the most part were good , we just had bad coaching and a qb that was mediocore.
I am loving this turn around, on paper we looked really good last year, a lot of analyst had us doing well, I can see us winning 10+ games and getting into the playoffs.
