I have been a long time lurker here at arrowhead pride. I don’t post and I don’t comment, because I never feel I have anything significant to contribute. Unfortunately for me there is something I can’t just sit back and read about here. This is my first post here so I apologize if my grammar is less than what you’re accustomed to.
Here’s what’s going on
The loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium was 131.76 dbA and was achieved by Galatasaray Spor Kulubu (Turkey) at the Ali Sami Yen Sport Complex Turk Telekom Arena, in Istanbul, Turkey, on 18 March 2011.
The info can be found on their facebook page from the link above.
What does this mean to the Chiefs?
So you might ask yourself, why do I care what the seachickens do? Well Arrowhead Stadium is generally known for being very loud. Most would call it the loudest stadium in the NFL. The Seahawks are trying to take this from us.
I like to think that I have a lot of pride in the Chiefs. Watching them play and be the laughing stock of the NFL the last few years has been hard, but we’ve all made it through. The only thing I dislike more than the Seahawks are the Broncos. Seahawk fans are just way to cocky.
What happens if the Seahawks do break the record?
I feel there is a very good chance that the Seahawks will break this record. If they do, it will be up to us as Chiefs fans to beat them.
We have our own group of warriors that want to do the same thing the Seahawks are doing. A fan group of the Chiefs was given approval to also attempt to break the record. You can read more about it here.
I would love nothing more than to bring this world record to Kansas City.
What can I do to help?
First I want to say that I am not part of this group. While I see what they are doing and will do what I can to help, I have nothing to do with the group attempting this. The biggest issue that I have noticed so far with the Chiefs attempt is organization. This doesn’t feel like a very well organized attempt to me. I mean no disrespect to anyone from the group if they read this, but from their facebook page I feel like it is ran by kids. Despite my negative feelings towards the people leading this push, I will still do my best to help us break the record.
I feel like the biggest issue for us going forward will be getting people to know about the record attempt, and bring the lung power to break it.
As far as a date for the Chiefs attempt to break the record, I have found nothing. If anyone happens upon a date, or it gets announced I would love to hear about it. You can check out the Chiefs group running the show at their facebook page linked below.
We need to get the word out and make sure everyone knows what we want to do. If anyone has more info on this I would love to hear it. As for me, I have homework to do :(
