At first I was mad, I'm not gonna lie as seen in this thread below I basically say he's better then Matt Cassel but not enough that it really matters, now I still don't think Alex Smith is elite, but he was probably our best option
After this thread but prior to the preseason, I calmed down a little and realized that Alex Smith is better then Matt Cassel, but was once again mad we got Chase Daniels especially at 4.8 million this year. Two reasons he's never one a game in the NFL hell he's never in played a game in the regular season and I really wanted Geno Smith, I thought sitting behind Alex Smith for a couple years could be really good. I still think that and until Geno Smith actually plays a whole season we won't know how good or bad he is. Baldwin, sorry buddy but I've been calling for your head for a long time now buddy (in the thread below) you are bust sir. What a huge drop off in WR's AJ Green-Julio Jones-Jonathan Baldwin.
Now after watching 4 preseason games, I feel confident in Alex Smith and Andy Reid and especially our special teams. I don't think Alex Smith is going to light anyone up ala Drew Brees but I don't think he's going to pull a Cassel either and throw 3 interceptions. I predict an 8-8 type season which is a huge upgrade from the last few years. On the negative side I'm still a hater on Chase Daniels. All you Mizzou fans can suck it. "He sat behind Drew Brees" Great Matt Cassel sat behind Tom Brady and actually played and won games for them. "He's a veteran" Who has done absolutely nothing he wasn't even drafted. Basically Tyler Bray has outplayed Chase Daniels and saying anything other then that would be a lie and Tyler Bray is an undrafted rookie.
