By Saturday at 5 p.m. (Arrowhead Time), the Kansas City Chiefs roster, which is currently sitting at 75 players, must be cut down to 53 players. That means at least 22 roster moves -- cuts and/or IR -- will happen by Saturday night.
Plenty of teams around the league are already beginning their NFL roster cuts but don't expect much from the Chiefs until Saturday. I asked Andy Reid last night what their plan of attack was for the roster cuts.
"We're probably not going to do anything until Saturday," Reid said, "give the doctors an opportunity to evaluate the guys. (It) gives John [Dorsey] and I a chance to sit down and talk, and John and his staff a chance to get together and mull everything over."
Reid also said the coaches needed to watch the tape of Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers for their evaluations.
It's possible we see news leak on some Chiefs players cut earlier but according to Reid the bulk of those will be coming on Saturday.
