Welcome to game day! The Kansas City Chiefs face the Green Bay Packers in the fourth and final preseason game. Yes, the Packers one again, the same team the Chiefs have played in the final game of the preseason the last three seasons. Both the Packers and Chiefs are 1-2 in the preseason with the Chiefs losing to the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers and beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime last week.
There's no word yet on how long the Chiefs starters will play, if they play at all. Andy Reid has been non-committal on that.
The Chiefs cut 15 players earlier this week en route to the 75-man roster limit deadline on Tuesday. Tonight's game against Green Bay is a big one for those on the end of the roster as the Chiefs are required to cut the roster down to 53 players by Saturday at 5 p.m. (Arrowhead Time).
Connections between the Chiefs and Packers include John Dorsey, the former front office man in Green Bay before coming to KC. Andy Reid also coached in Green Bay before taking the Philadelphia Eagles job in 1999.
